Anybody hear of anything? Seems like we need another point guard to step in to a back up role at least. Anybody know if the coaches have any targets out there?

Yes, ‘tall Serbia girl’ is Jelena Aquino is referred to as AA as the player that most likely will never play. I agree, AA will likely never play(what a loss), will Jelena ever play?? I've seen some comments that she may head back home, partly due to the stinking virus thing, and possibly to play in Europe. She didn't smell the court this year, even after KB went down. Does that say she will play next year? Dunno, but given circumstances right now, I'm not counting on her at all... I'm concerned that with the players leaving we will have enough depth to be competitive, or scrimmage !! Players missing a few games is a given most years, with only 10 or 11 active, that makes it TOUGH.. Plus I'm bored!! |

I think we are one good drive and dish point guard away from being a pretty outstanding team. I fully expect Jelena to play this year. She didn't play last year due to injury but I haven't seen or heard anything that makes it sound like she won't be a significant contributor this year.

2 Sasha, Jasmine, Savannah
3 Ellie, Jasmine, Sasha, Savannah
4 Taya, Ellie, Jelena
5 Taylor, Jelena, Patricia
We have strong outside shooting in the 1-4 positions, slasher/passers in the 2-4 positions, and strong post players. But we need more depth at point guard and if we had a great drive and dish player we could take advantage of what I think will be stronger outside shooting next year in the 2-4 slots.
I haven't watched as much on Savannah so I'm not sure what her outside shooting is like. But Aleah, Sasha, Ellie, and Taya are good outside shooters and Jasmine is pretty good also. Jelena has range at the 4 position and is reported to be a great passer from the high post also. As others have pointed out, however, Jelena may not fit defensively at the 4 position depending on the match-up.
I like the way this team looks on paper and hope we can add a good transfer point guard (or, even better, somehow convince Destiny to stay).
