Joey got a bad break being drafted by Detroit. He had no supporting cast and worse coaching. "Hey Joey, go mow the greens and here's a pair of hedge shears." He does have an education foundation he started funding with his bonus money.

Hopefully he becomes the starter. With a ratio of one interception for every two touchdowns, his passes should be easier to pick off. Maybe the second coming of Joey five-pick? LOL Well, if he is the second coming of Joey five-pick he will win a bunch of games, have a nice duration pro career, make a s%#tload of money, and still remain a good guy and an asset to his community. Guess we can only hope! FJH

Oregon's situation is akin to building a great race car, then having no one good enough to drive it! JS is building the Beaver rig and still able to come up with multiple drivers. The mascot for Oregon will go from "Ducks" to "Headless Horsemen"...LOL! Wait. Don't get the analogy unless its just uck hate?! OSU has no "driver" at this time. It recruited several QBs including a JC with no D1 experience. The rest of the OSU roster I believe has 1 D1 start. They recruited a portal guy with dozens of D1 starts. Wouldn't that mean they have more experience at driving a rig, just not theirs? Most on this board can smell what nexus is cooking. Not surprised you are too dense to understand. Not going to explain it either. LOL!

Okay BB, let me try to explain the deal.
Oregon has no one to pilot the great talent they accumulated. Even with Herbert, the Duck O looked relatively tame. They did not exactly blow us out in the CW despite the disparity in talent. Without Herbert, who is going to drive the Oregon race car?
We on the other hand have the guy who started in the CW and proved to be a respectable backup. More players are on the way to fill the roster out. I like what we have, will bring in and who will do the coaching much better than Oregon. The Beavermobile still needs some shop time but at least we do have the drivers and a great guy (JS) to lead the pit crew.
If there is a worry for us when facing our rivals, it would be their D. At least it looks like we can bring some D to the party in the next CW. If their O struggles some during the 2020 season, you can figure on us keeping them in the hole they dug.
On our side, Beaver QB's don't turn the ball over much. Win the turnover battle and what on paper should be an easy Oregon win if one is counting 4 and 5 star recruits can turn into a hardwon Beaver victory. JS gets more out of his players than Cristobal does IMO.
Duck hate? No, just my take on what I see from both teams, their coaches and what the prospects are for each.

The rest of the roster is what it is. But, I'll stand by conclusion that the experience advantage goes to their drivers based on their transfer. No idea what he or our guys will actually do once the lights are on. We'll see. Thx

Thx I’m probably wrong (I was a Leaf over Manning guy!) but from what I saw of Gebbia and the stats of the BC guy, I’d go with Gebbia. He has a long way to go to reach his ceiling, and grad transfer has most likely pretty much topped out. We’ll see. Hope I’m right this time!

Oh I'd take Gebbia too... he's got 3 seasons to grow, develop, lead a program. I'm only talking right now on paper there is far more D1 experience in their QB room. OSU has more in their system.

I dunno...Ducks dont have anyone on their roster that is a clear cut frontrunner and proven P5 commodity. It's not like Shough was given a chance to complete like Gebbia. I'm guessing the other thought process is if Shough cant beat this kid out, they will be going with one of the youngsters in the future, so it may be Shough that transfers out.
Not a bad move by Ducks, and IMO not really all that different than OSU bringing in Nolan, who sure didnt come to OSU to be the backup.
