Pickens has an estate you know. Being dead does not mean that they won’t receive additional funds Um yeah, I know. According to Forbes it has a net worth of less than $1 Billion. Other sources say $500 mil. That leaves Knight with a whopping $36.6 Bil advantage. Why do your responses have a snotty tone so often? You seem bitter much of the time. Doesn’t mean Phil is giving it all to uo. He’s one of our top 5 donors as well. It’s just peanuts compared to what he gives to uo and Stanford. Not bitter, just don’t think money is the only answer

Sagebrush and mbabeav, who are you responding to? Not who, but what. Not a big PK fan but thankful his wife is a huge baseball fan, and that success at Nike is not just for the yellow and green. Our wealthiest alumnus is a multi billionaire who's home is in Turkey who funds many charities and programs and schools there. He was on the OSU basketball team, was student body president. Not sure if the OSU Foundation is in his will, but enjoy and appreciate what he is doing for his nation.

I think We should have a Notable alum thread on the MU board. Non-athlete or those that contributed to society beyond their athletic performance.

Also, he’s been surpassed by the founder of Nvidia in wealth.

I’d like to see some evidence of his participation on the basketball team. Also, he’s been surpassed by the founder of Nvidia in wealth. I don't believe for one second he was ever legitimately on any OSU basketball roster. Unless it was on the "rook" (pre-freshmen eligible for varsity) team .... for a single year.
I've been searching for the story I read where he talks about being on the team, but mea culpa for providing that erroneous information. And several years ago he was up to about 9 billion US, but he's been giving a lot of it away. Now we need to get our nVidia alumnus to make a big commitment, if he hasn't already!

The Pickens thing at Oklahoma State was a partial disaster because of the life insurance policies didn't pan out.

Seems to me that the story was in an issue of The Oregon Stater alumni magazine a few years ago. I don't have a copy, and do not claim to be correct.
