I talked to my resident expert on the British and she said they call biscuits biscuits. Unless they are hard then they are scones, or sweet and they are tea cakes. The slang term for them is baps.
My expert spent her formative years in an all-girl school in London. She received personal instruction her senior year from the Mother Superior after an unfortunate accident involving a bathroom in the 400 year old school and an M-80 she got from her cousins in Alabama. The lesson learned? M-80s do not go out when flushed...
