Sounds like Russia isn't taking this virus very seriously yet. Jaime Scott is playing on the same team and decided to stay. link

It's something of an epidemiological mystery why Russia has reported so few cases..... They have extensive trade connections with China... My guess is that Russia simply is not reporting or testing for coronavirus.... If I was Ruth I'd get out.....Ironically, Novasibirsk likely has the most advanced scientific community and the most advanced medical facilities in all of Russia.... GO BEAVS !!

GO BEAVS !! 411500 is on to something. I, too, wondered why Russia wasn't reporting more of a problem with the virus. A link below provides Russian-reported figures of only 114 confirmed cases out of 110k+ tests. That rate is significantly lower than the ratio that we are seeing in the US with more acute social distancing measures being in place in this country. I suspect that Russia's virus issue will become more transparent during the next two weeks. You just can't hide or deny the impacts of the virus from your citizens for very long. www.straitstimes.com/world/europe/coronavirus-vladimir-putin-says-russia-virus-situation-under-control

If you read the book, "Gorbachev," by William Taubman, you will learn (on page 338) that, in 1987, 30% of hospitals in the Soviet Union (not just Russia, the whole damn USSR) didn't have indoor plumbing.
'Most advanced medical facilities ' could be a very relative term. If I were Ruth, I'd feel a lot more comfortable being in the west as well.
If they don't pay her, they could face a significant problem signing western players in the future.

Maybe lots of Vodka controls it? Maybe some cities and some areas of Russia have great medical facilities, but I visited Russia twice 10 years ago, and the CDC was recommending to drink only name brand bottled water and brush your teeth only with bottled water or name brand mouth wash (obviously you should use toothpaste). In many places their tap water is still crap...(some bacteria in it that shouldn't be, if you get my drift). I lived in Kazan for a month, and the tap water/bath water was a pleasing grey color. The vodka was necessary just to kill the germs.

The rest the Moscow/LA flights are cancelled. That makes God good? What about others that might be trying to get back from Russia to the US or Canada?

If I went through this sort of trauma I might say something similar to Ruth's post even though it is very unlikely that God would ever intervene on my behalf. I would more likely be on the first flight that was cancelled.
