Make no mistake, the officials have let the women have at it thus far.USC's Pili is a Sherman tank in a glass shop !She has 3 more years to plow her way to the basket. That's not my idea of how basketball should be played but it is what it is.Ucla overcame the trojans but it was a
street fight! The same thing will happen in tournament play.I watched South Carolina. They are formidable.oregon has great team talent and chemistry, lets see how physical they match up.Sabally,Hebbard,Ionescu, can play anyway you want. The x factor is can Ionescu keep her poise and temper under control? She doesnt like to be pushed around, especially if there are non calls. She lets the officials get in her head, the ducks will have problems......

Pili was in foul trouble pretty much from the get go yesterday, really limited her minutes in the game.

Pili and Overbeck were crazy aggressive. Just turn and go to the rim. UCLA did a good job of just standing straight and letting them bowl them over. Pili’s 4th foul she knocked the defender into the stanchion. I think teams will learn to defend by staying in front and not trying to block the shot. This kind of tactic works for a while but not forever.

I keep thinking Pili and Overbeck can be a tag team in the WWE if basketball doesn't work out for them. I actually thought a few of the fouls yesterday were cheap. Just a matter of physics, if 2 players both go for a ball but one weighs twice as much, the smaller player is going to bounce off. Doesn't mean it was a foul. She does do plenty of plowing over a defender though.

Well conditioned by the rough and tumble play in Alaska high school system.
