Melgoza finishes her career w/ another 30 point game, but again gets very little help. Such is the way it goes most of the time for Washington. I think Utah has some upside, most of their production is from Fr. and Sophs. Maxwell shook off a quiet first half and ended up 5-5 behind the arc.
I don't recall ever seeing this before. Repeatedly Kiana Moore put her hand ON Melgoza's face when she was guarding her. Literally on her face, making contact. That would probably get you punched most anywhere other than a basketball court. It was ridiculous, but the refs let her get away with it.

Seems like if they start rough , and they don't get called for it - then it is open season the rest of the game .However, if there is some fair officiating, the early fouls on the starters, necessitate a less aggressive approach . Personally , I just love the skills and abilities that the women put on display, and would much rather see clean play and even handed foul calls Throughout the game. Sort of like watching a baseball game where the plate umpire does not know the strike zone . If it's working in your favor, you just do an eye roll. If it is affecting only your team, you and the hometown crowd get pretty irritated. We had an umpire that called Legion ball several years ago... and, almost every time he showed up for one of our games, he had one or two black eyes, because he was getting attacked by parents after the game ! He had quite a reputation - but, he should have upped his game / rather than looking forward to getting pummeled again ! I guess this where glutton for punishment came from !

I didn't watch the game but Cal was 25/30 at the line, Debils were 11/16. 14 points spread from the line.
From what we have all seen for year sounds like the officials called a fair game.
If ASU is forced to play basketball and not a 'physical game' that isn't basketball they don't do well.

If the stripes let them get away with rugby, hell yes, they are going to do it.
