Congratulations to her. Her bachelor and masters aren't easy to say let alone complete. With all her time on basketball and community activities how the heck can she attain a 3.93 GPA.

Just a remarkable young woman. We have been blessed beyond words to have her in Corvallis the past 4 years. Very talented, gritty and mentally-tough, great personality, super intelligent...and humble. That is a really rare combo for anyone in any arena.
Congratulations, Mik. You are so deserving of many awards. Thanks for gracing us with your presence at OSU. You will be the standard by which our future high-flying student-athletes will be measured for a long time. Hey, while you’re taking a bow, why not channel that extraordinary thing you have going to the max for the next 4 weeks and finish your career at OSU with a big splash?!

I have to be honest, some of these defensive honors for Mik are a little surprising to me. I am by no means suggesting that she is not a good defender, but I guess I have never really considered her a super high end, lock-down defender worthy of this recognition. Again, not saying she isn't good or the best defender on the team, just don't think she is elite nationally.

Synergy, the computer software program that records and ranks all defensive outcomes of possessions, supports Pivec as one of the best defenders in the conference. One must keep in mind that she often guards the 2 through 4 on opposing teams. She has fouled out three times this season, so she needs to be more selective as to how she guards and rebounds in order to avoid foul trouble the rest of the way. |

Like Anigwe last year. Not a great defensive player in the traditional sense, but Anigwe got all of those defensive rebounds and so she ended up on defensive teams.
