The headline of this game is:
Berg Bailer Bites Back.
Former Beaver Stephani Merwin, who transferred to Seattle a couple years ago, added an insurance run in the second inning with a solo hr. then tripled in three in the third which was game over for sure with our sticks. Now, was losing her a couple years ago a significant loss? No, she hits around .200. However, she has a higher average than some of our players that start.
No strike outs vs. Hawaii last night and ten this game.
Our pitcher that just shut down Hawaii last night wasn't as sharp. I think Berg started her to save Mazon for Nevada tonight who we had already lost to in this tourney.
Frosh Grace Mesmer hit her first home run in the seventh.
D had four errors.
Sr. Nerissa Eason finally go to pitch in the 20th game of the season. Pitched three innings and had 0 er, 1 hp and 2 k's.
I get frustrated when we lose to a 5-12 Seattle team but checking their schedule they beat Missouri and lost to Oklahoma by 1 run so they're not that bad and I think it's great for college softball moving toward no easy outs.
Nevada up at 2:30.

4 errors and no real offense makes Me think we are not going to scare anyone with offense or defense. Pretty sad Year after Year.

And the Duck program get absolutely trashed and dismantled when White left and they are already on the road to rebuilding with mostly freshmen and are 16 and 1 this year.

And the Duck program get absolutely trashed and dismantled when White left and they are already on the road to rebuilding with mostly freshmen and are 16 and 1 this year. Our neighbors are definitely shiny and trendy. And yes, stinks they just reload. Here are three stats per yearfrom the Berg era. ERA Fielding% BA '13 3.64 .966 .280'14 4.95 .940 .287 '15 4.94 .951 .298 '16 3.17 .962 .306'17 3.31 .947 .294'18 2.85 .952 .262'19 (snubbed from tour) 3.53 .943 .258 '20 (through 21 games) 1.30 .957 .252 *bold signifies tourney year
ERA seems to be a key and I include '19 because they should have been selected over several SEC teams. I do realize however that '19's fielding% and BA were second lowest in the Berg era and that didn't help. Do selection committee's look at these stats when making their decision? Be interested to know. Anyone know?
