This may be one of Berg's worst hitting teams but may be one of her best defensively. I haven't done the research but it seems that way.
Tied at zero (can you be tied at zero?) in B6 Seattle had runners on the corners with no out. They get the lead runner trying to go home and then have runners on 1st and 2nd with one down. Next play they get the lead runner at 3rd for two down and a strikeout to end the inning.
In the extra inning the allowed runner to start the inning get's to 3rd on a wild pitch and then tries to score on a pass ball but is thrown out.
We score in extra's when our allowed runner tags on a fly ball and makes it to 3rd and the next play their 2nd baseman makes a throwing error to try to get our runner at home. We Win!
Back to the hitting or lack there off. Our bottom six hitters in this game, BOTTOM SIX, hit ave. .218, .220, .222, .100, .152, .275. And those numbers are even lower after the game. Our Pitcher Mariah Mazon 6-5, I think, with an ERA of just over 1. Finally Berg has a legitimate pitcher and no hitting. Oi Vey
Hawaii up at 9. Go Beavers!!!
