The Beavs had two more inbounding violations on Sunday against Cal. I know that OSU has several inbounds plays that may take some time to develop, but doesn't the inbounder have to check to the safety option at the four seconds count and get the ball inbounds? Giving the ball away because we can't inbound the ball is extremely deflating.
Are we not cutting to the ball quickly enough? Do we have the wrong people/passers inbounding the ball? It seems like our guards are sometimes too passive when we are being pressed and they need to create some more separation to receive an inbounds pass. Against UCLA in the second quarter, an OSU guard went away from the inbounder towards the corner of the court and made the inbounds pass easier for the Bruins defender to steal. Her defender stole the ball and passed to her teammate for a layup.
Am I overreacting or have others noticed that OSU players need to help out the inbounder by cutting more quickly and/or bodying up more aggressively in order to provide the passer with a clearer passing option?

It has often seemed to me that several of those plays take quite some time to develop, leaving a rather brief window to execute. When you combine that with all time outs seemingly being called from the bench, never from the floor to avoid a turnover, that's going to happen at times. Frustrating to watch, but that's the system.

The two against cal were called by the same ref and sure seemed to be a fast count. That said the inbound plays do take a long time to develop. The players don't seem to move quickly.

Don't have the precise numbers, but it seems to me that Destiny was in charge of the inbounds pass on most of the 5 second calls..... I have no clue why she fails to beat the clock on such a basic play; also hard for me to figure how a team known for quality inbounds plays could cough it up so many times on the 5 second clock...
For the coaches on the board I'm sure it's painful to watch the Beavs miscue on so many inbounds plays.
The consequences really aren't all that serious, but one could say that they are indicative of a larger problem the team faces this year - a failure to execute screens, passes, and plays with the exceptional precision for which Rueck's teams are rightfully known... GO BEAVS !!
