Friday against Washington and Sunday against Washington State to close the regular reason.
Looking forward to seeing Maddie follow up on her solid game against Cal by looking for her shot when she is open. Hope to see an enjoyable weekend and two wins for the four seniors.

I haven't heard any kind of update, but I think for Friday's game Washington will be down to one healthy post player. She certainly can't play 40 minutes, so they will most likely have some 5 guard lineups on the floor at times. They have a couple of players listed at 6-1 but they are definitely more perimeter oriented. Freshman Quay Miller has made some strides down the stretch but this might be an opportunity for Jones to have a big game.

What happened to UW's post players?? Who is likely to miss the Friday game??? Thanks...... GO BEAVS !! Darcy Rees has missed the last 2 games and is out for the season with a stress reaction. Ali Bamberger was hurt right near the end of Sunday's game against UCLA. It didn't look good. Sometimes I think you can have an idea of the severity of the injury based on the player's reaction. She was in obvious pain and looked really upset. I'll be really surprised if she plays again this season.

nwhoopfan - - Thanks for the update....Appreciate it. Haven't researched the stats on Bamberger or Rees so don't know what kind of. adjustments Coach Wynn is looking at..... UW's got a dynamo scorer in Amber Melgoza....My guess is that she will draw a lot of Beaver attention Friday.... GO BEAVS !!
P.S. Melgoza info from Pac 12 WBB website:
PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Amber Melgoza, Sr., G, WASHINGTON (Santa Barbara, Calif.) 2 GP, 23.5 ppg, 5.0 rpg, .500 FG (18-36), .900 FT (9-10), 3.0 apg • Helped lead Washington to a pair of home wins including Senior Day-upset over No. 8 UCLA (64-68) before defeating USC two days prior (75-66). • Opened the weekend with 25 points on 10-of-19 shooting as the Huskies beat the Trojans. • Against the Bruins, she scored 22 points, adding six rebounds, five assists and a steal to lead the Huskies to their first win over a ranked team this season. • Has 39 career 20+ point games including eight this year, moving up to 11th on Washington’s all-time scoring list with 1,643 career points.

Most of the season UW only utilized one of their post players at a time, occasionally they had 2 on the floor together. Minutes were fairly evenly distributed. None of them excelled, they had some good stretches from all 3 at times. Miller is averaging 15 minutes per game, Rees and Bamberger averaged 18 and 14 respectively. Rees was averaging just under 7 ppg and Bamberger just under 4. Replacing the point production isn't the killer, it's the problem of having at least one big body on the floor. Miller hasn't played more than 26 minutes in a game this season. OSU isn't quite primed to take advantage of this since their front court is depleted too, but I imagine it's going to be a huge problem against Oregon. Not that they had any chance in that game anyway.
I was happy to see Melgoza get POW. Well deserved. She's a good player who's been relatively anonymous due to UW's lack of success the last 3 years.

Hope he starts the four seniors in both games this weekend. An interesting idea to do it both games. My guess is that we will see it on Sunday. Did Rueck start Wiese, Brown, Hanson, and Orum on Senior Day 2017 along with Gulich? If so, that would have meant that Pivec would have come off the bench for that game. I know that OSU needed to win that final PAC-12 game to win the regular season title outright in 2017, so I don't believe that all four seniors started in that game. Gulich was the lone senior on the 2017-2018 team, I believe. McWilliams and Grymek started against UCLA on Senior Day last season.

I hope our Senior celebration includes recognizing the players from the WSU team on Sunday like Cal did for ours. Very Classy.

I think it's fairly customary to start Sr. on Senior Day. Nothing says you can't pull them after a minute. A game will not be won or lost in such a short time frame.

It has been confirmed that Rees and Bamberger are out for the remainder of the season for the UW. So, one may expect a heavy dose of Melgoza and lots of Husky pressing/pressure. The Beavs took advantage of Cal's pressing last Sunday by scoring in transition. Would like to see that same attacking style tomorrow as the Beavs punish the UW for extending fullcourt pressure.

Bamberger injured her ACL/MCL/meniscus/hamstring tendon. That is just awful. I didn't see exactly what happened but I think she got tangled up on a rebound off a missed FT. It definitely wasn't no contact like so many ACL injuries are.
UW used full court pressure quite a bit earlier in the season but haven't utilized it as much as the year has gone on.
Whenever Miller is out of the game UW will have to defend Jones w/ either Henson or Van Dyke, both listed at 6-1. They may play a lot of zone but someone will still have to match up on the interior.

I am wondering what the crowd size and enthusiasm will be tomorrow night? I think the team is on an upswing. Although the Stanford game was frustrating, I thought they played pretty well, as has been pointed out in a number of posts.
