Thursday
Lost 0-1 to Miss St. Mazon gave up two hits but one was a dinger. We mustered three hits.
Beat Idaho State 8-3. Better have.
Friday
Lost 5-4 to #18 Missouri in 9. Scored four in the 1st and gave up four in the 4th and one in the 9th.
Still no Franke. Also noticed that Camryn Ybarra, one of our regulars the last two seasons, had transferred to Nebraska. I knew someone was missing this year and finally looked into it. That's two years in a row that a big contributor has left the program. I realize there is player movement but I hope Berg isn't running them off.
At 8-4 in OOC play the chances of making the tournament look bleak. Since I've been following the program (early 2000 when Kirk injected significant life into the program, for me anyway) if we don't have a stellar OOC record we generally don't make the tourney. The Pac 12 is too difficult for the players we are able to recruit. Was so hoping Berg's clout in the game would be a big draw but not so much.
Long Beach State at 2:30 and UC Riverside at 7:30
