We have an off season where injuries have caught up to us and so many on here are ready to throw the players and coaches under the bus. So far this season we haven't been blown out like we have in past years, we have been competitive in every game. All I hear here is how our coaches and players don't have any idea how to do their jobs. What a bunch of whiners.
I've been a fan through thick and thin, yes even the Wagner years, because I feel the team deserves my support. It has been a pleasure this last ten years to cheer for a team that does the right thing.

It is true that this has been an unusually tough luck season, we haven’t been blown out, and our program is one to be proud of for the way that they do business. I certainly don’t question the abilities of our coaches, or the dedication or passion of our players. The reality is that when a program arrives at a place where they legitimately can compete for national titles (see baseball as well), even to the point of being touted as a possible #1 overall seed in the NCAA tourney earlier in the year, it is difficult for a lot of fans to swallow “underachieving”. They have been in every game that they lost late, but the previous few years we managed to win most of the games that came down to the wire. When potential is high but it isn’t realized, it is normal for fans to be frustrated. I haven’t seen people question the coaches abilities or the player’s hearts much. It’s natural though to debate the cause of not meeting expectations. Better to care enough to get frustrated than to be indifferent.

I feel for them and what they have been dealing with this season. While all teams have to deal injuries, losing two starters (and I believe that Taya could have played the 3 and Kennedy the 4) has resulted in not being to win some of the close games that have been very winnable. I remain a loyal fan who is hoping for just a few things to break the Beavs' way in order for them to return to their winning ways.

There have been discussions on options and wondering "what if". There have been discussion of player's and coaches weaknesses as perceived by a fan base. And, all of our players DO have weaknesses. And, maybe the most civil threads on this entire board are discussing WBB. So... it's a bit of frustration and hypocrisy in and of itself to call out others for tossing anyone under the bus or whining. Not sure I've read one post that said they are no longer supportive of SR or the team?! Again, as so many might overreact to losses, so can those overdo discussions about them. In no way does supporting a team mean you can't discuss both the positives and negatives of your program. If a pollyanna world view is the goal here, then a sports message board is probably not the place for that person.

For me one of the things that is enjoyable about sports is the uncertainty of what will occur in a sporting contest. Also attempting to figure out the why and the how of what happened. As you stated I believe all the members of this forum support the team and the Coach. For me that does not change because I think this particular group because of (a) injuries and (b) an inability on many occasions to play the type of team offense that has so characterized the Beavers in the Coach Rueck era lacks the ability to win many more games this year.
Go Beavers!
