My point is, how can Trish contribute if she is only on the floor for 1 to 3 minutes in most games, and 0 in many? I also know that players get overlooked in programs, and that is unfortunate. Rueck is a good coach and he probably has his reasons. But he is not infallible.

If Trish was showing well in practices against her teammates and/or against the male scout team, she would be on the floor more in games when the outcomes of the games were in doubt. The coaches want to win and put an end to the losing streak. If they believed that Jelena was able to help, they would burn a redshirt year for her and play her. Both Trisha and Jelena play the 5 behind Taylor and could spell her if/when she gets in foul trouble or needs a breather. Madison must know both the 4 and 5 positions because she played the majority of the minutes at the 5 when Taylor was out of the game against UCLA.

I remember when Hebert went down last year and SR with a shorter rotation "to match Oregon's faster lineup". OSU has been playing against shorter teams, I've assumed that SR feels the need to match their lineup.

Personally I don't think it ever worked. Why throw away the height advantage? But I'm not the coach.
