Summary
What a difference a day makes.
Beavers led 2-1 going into B5 and after seeing Mazon for the 10th straight inning they put up four runs. Added another off Melancon in the 6th. I wondered why Berg didn't start Melancon. Thought maybe it was because that was her former team and either she was nervous about it or they had seen her lots in practice. We also have Sr. pitcher Nerissa Eason who hasn't seen any action yet. Not sure the reason there. I know she struggles with control but give her a batter or two here and there. Berg left Mazon in until they had already scored two runs and the bases were loaded. Confused by her strategy at times. Wish we could pick her brain in post game interviews.
Houston was very effecient. Scored 6 runs on 6 hits and left 5. We scored 2 runs on 7 hits and left 10. I know I know, that's a good sign :-)
