EDIT - I (mostly) withdraw my criticism below given this: www.seniorclassaward.com/columns/view/just_do_the_right_thing/Dang, just when I had worked up a good head of steam on the matter :-). I will put this in the off-topic area, since, well, one could claim it is off topic. The following could also be construed as "sour grapes" or Ionescu-envy, but so be it...... I can't find any explanation for the late add of an 11th finalist for the Senior CLASS Award, and none in the OSU Beavers official press release either. Was an explanation given? Seems hard to put lipstick on the following pig: "We at Senior CLASS were made aware that in our rush to acknowledge, due to being firmly in the pockets of corporate interests that now rule this country and athletics, that signing autographs and attending class at uo should clearly be considered the moral equivalent of Mother Teresa elsewhere, or at least since Nike and uo is busy manufacturing a female Michael Jordan and we must help, that we may have left off an incredibly deserving candidate the likes of whom is rarely seen in athletics or otherwise, who sadly has a head coach with moral fiber and integrity enough to come out and spotlight the inequity......." I guess it is easier to sidestep the criticism that will be leveled at SI's coronation thanks to coach SR (and a bunch of other active Tweeters) by simply adding her to the pool. In some small way, some justice has been served, but as an old curmudgeon, the whole thing still rankles me :-). Go Beavers! Go Mik!

I am plenty aware of the thread at the top of every board, and am busy exercising the links contained therein :-). Go Beavers!

But did you see the letter from the selection committee? I edited my initial post to reflect the fact that I did see the letter (and even put a pointer to said letter in the edit). I just don't like to delete a post, so I left it there for context...... Here is what I said: EDIT - I (mostly) withdraw my criticism below given this: www.seniorclassaward.com/columns/view/just_do_the_right_thing/Dang, just when I had worked up a good head of steam on the matter :-).
