You’ve said that to me like 3 times but I don’t know what it means. It’s just another way of saying “outta sight!”

But was curious about the Best Picture winner “Parasite”. Checked the plot summary, wow, what a story. Saw only one of the other nominees. The Tarantino movie “Once Upon a Time In Hollywood. Thoroughly enjoyed it but didn’t really see it as Best Picture material. Still need to see 1917. Dude, you're supposed to go into the movie (Parasite) knowing nothing in order to best enjoy the experience.

The Irishman and Marriage Story are both very good films. I’m looking forward to seeing Parasite, Once Upon..., Ford v Ferrari, 1917, Harriet. Don't miss Harriet. Just watched it on the weekend and it was a very good movie. I was rooting for the actress to win the Oscar, but didn't happen.

Some of my favorite works of art - songs, paintings, plays, films etc, etc, are ones I've seen repeatedly. I'm pretty good at predicting plot resolutions before they happen in films. For movies (for me at least) it's not so much a matter of what the story is but how it's told.

Parasite is unique and surprising... subtitled if you care. VERY good. 1917... yawn... thought it would be better. Was a poor man's Saving Private Ryan in many ways. Have no seen "Once" as someone else wasn't interested, so it'll be a night alone watch. Was hoping 1917 would be epic, LIKE SPR. One camera, right? Trench warfare in WWI sounds horrific (duh). “Gallipoli,” is a great movie regarding the tactic. Brutal I have no desire to see 1917 - considering that British generals would enter willingly into battles that would result in 57,000 casualties in one day (the battle of the Somme) to gain 3 square miles of territory, the thought that so much concern would be given to a unit if 1700 is difficult to believe, especially since, in looking at the trailers, there appear to be that many casualties happening as the two soldiers race to complete their task. "Gallipoli" was much more realistic. That was a gruesome conflict in a century of the worst.

I almost watched it last weekend but I made the mistake of looking at user reviews. Lots of people saying it wasn't good or historically accurate.

I am not a history buff, so I never knew much about her. The movie was an excellent start for me. Looking at one “fact check” site, the gist of the movie is accurate. They used poetic license with the slave master and the black woman who helped runaways in Philadelphia, but the core of the story is accurate. FWIW, I heard Regal is showing it for free during Black History Month. We rented it from Redbox for a buck. Don’t regret it at all.

The Irishman and Marriage Story are both very good films. I’m looking forward to seeing Parasite, Once Upon..., Ford v Ferrari, 1917, Harriet. Loved Goodfellas, possibly my favorite movie of all time. Really liked Casino. Loved The Departed. I have at least liked almost every Scorsese film that I have seen.
Liked The Irishman quite a bit, I really did, but as I was watching it I realized something that I never thought I would've...I'm over the Scorsese/DeNiro/Pesci mix. Same with Al Pacino, who really seems to just be playing himself his last few films. But the characters in The Irishman...I thought the movie would have been much better if lesser-known actors played the roles that DeNiro, Pesci and Pacino played. All three parts kept screaming the actors' true names and not the parts they were playing. It kind of felt like Scorsese was just getting the band back together for one last show. It felt kind of tired. Add in Keitel for his minor role...it was too much.
I get it. You guys have made great gangster movies. Now let's move on.
