But was curious about the Best Picture winner “Parasite”. Checked the plot summary, wow, what a story.
Saw only one of the other nominees. The Tarantino movie “Once Upon a Time In Hollywood. Thoroughly enjoyed it but didn’t really see it as Best Picture material. Still need to see 1917.

VERY good. 1917... yawn... thought it would be better. Was a poor man's Saving Private Ryan in many ways. Have no seen "Once" as someone else wasn't interested, so it'll be a night alone watch.

The Irishman and Marriage Story are both very good films. I’m looking forward to seeing Parasite, Once Upon..., Ford v Ferrari, 1917, Harriet.

Was hoping 1917 would be epic, LIKE SPR. One camera, right? Trench warfare in WWI sounds horrific (duh). “Gallipoli,” is a great movie regarding the tactic. Brutal

Yeah, it was a tad slow but it did give you more time to enjoy DeNiro, Pacino, and Pesci. Plus, I caught it on Netflix so could take a break to eat, drink, etc.

The Oscars have become a joke. Lowest ratings ever this year. It's become a forum for under-educated Hollywood people to make their bold political statements. Hopefully soon it will just disappear altogether.

You’ve said that to me like 3 times but I don’t know what it means. If you don't know the OK Boomer meme, how can we take your opinion on the relevancy of the Oscars broadcast seriously?

Because I quoted a fact about the ratings. I’m also perfectly willing to discuss science, math, etc. which some folks actually believe to be more relevant than the modern lexicon. But you keep doing whatever makes you happy, it’s fine with me.
