That's basically what I was saying - but the steps, until this year, have been a major accident waiting to happen. The rails are a big improvement. I'm surprised they did not put those rails on both sides of the aisle instead of just the one side. One step at a time perhaps. BTW, similar rails would be a great idea for the old west side at Reser too. Supposedly the width of the stairway would not meet specs with both handrails... measured inside to inside. Also, those with severe issues with the stairs can ask to be seated on the floor. OSU has to provide not only handicap but semi accessible seating to those that can not deal with the stairs. Friends with crutches/casts have been brought chairs for a partial 2nd row and/or been in front row of student section.
