Very nice...every recruit aught to see this video. Pretty safe bet that they see this, or something more detailed. Make a visit, see the real thing.

One other thought. We've shared comments on marketing (or lack of same) by the Athletic Department. I'm a member of the Rebounders, so am the choir waiting to be preached to. But this video wasn't sent to me by OSU. Wonder why not? Too much trouble? Nobody even thought about it?
I'll guess they have email addresses for for at least 80% of season ticket holders, not to mention football, baseball, and men's basketball ticket holders. Why wouldn't you toot your own horn and send something like this to all of them? I sure as hell would.

I remember the days when locker-rooms were literally just a place to shower and change for the college athletes. Nowadays it's a 5 star treatment resort.

If the schools were recruiting against have an elite locker room...we need an elite locker room. I think doners accomplished that...Some people disparage Gill Coliseum that it is a recruiting disadvantage. Ask any recruit who was at the Civil War in Corvallis and I believe they would feel differently...

Guess we will see. Gill is a dump. It has a great scoreboard. We are competing against Schools with no scruples. We can recruit good Woman players, but no denying it is what it is.

Gill is old and lacking in amenities from a fan's perspective. For the players, the locker room and the extremely enthusiastic fan support would certainly be what matters. Don't envision anybody choosing someplace else because they have a nicer walk from the locker room to the court

Gill is a classic field house. The update to the video board and even more important the lighting was a step in the right direction. I'm sure they will update the seats over time. Replacing it with some generic multipurpose facility would be a shame.

Gill is a classic field house. The update to the video board and even more important the lighting was a step in the right direction. I'm sure they will update the seats over time. Replacing it with some generic multipurpose facility would be a shame. I don't think you replace Gill. OSU can have the best of both worlds if it keeps Gill and builds a second, modern arena on campus. Then, some sports would use Gill and others would use the arena, depending on the sport and its popularity, logistics, spatial requirements, etc. This is how many universities have done it. The older "field house" is used for some sports and the newer arena for others. For example, Michigan State University was in the identical situation to Oregon State 35 years ago. To improve fan support, recruiting, and attendance, it badly needed a larger, up-to-date facility with modern amenities and design features best suited to its basketball programs. With financial help from the State Legislature and booster donations, MSU decided not to tear down it's old, historic, unique Jenison Field House but rather keep it and build a new arena at the same time. Jenison Field House was spared the wrecking ball and was instead reconfigured/renovated for best use by women's volleyball, gymnastics, men's wrestling, and indoor track and field. Simultaneously, MSU built the "Breslin Center" (seating capacity of 15,000) for its men's and women's basketball teams. With the proper vision, promotion, and dedication, OSU could do the same. It has room on the west side of campus if one or two of the animal facilities are relocated to an alternative location. Nearby, off campus "farm" research facilities are already the case for several of OSU's agricultural science departments. OSU's basketball programs don't have to "suffer" any drop off in noise or fan proximity (as some have suggested would occur) by moving from Gill to the new arena. If any one has experienced a live basketball game at MSU's Breslin Center firsthand, they know it is one of the loudest and rowdiest university arenas in the Nation. Fans sit close in too. It's a very intimidating place for opponents to play. OSU could, and IMO should, do the same. Its time to stop dreaming and start working heavily/emphatically on this. I think one would be hard pressed to find a long term MSU sports fan or alumnus who does not believe MSU is in a much better place now with the decisions that were made. Like MSU did 35 years ago, OSU needs a modern arena to keep pace and better compete in the 21st century. Wake up and smell the coffee if you have not already.Full disclosure, I am a former MSU student (undergrad) and a former OSU student (graduate).
