McGarry showed some flashes last year. That rocket he hit against UCLA was impressive. Would love to see him be a consistent force this season. Veterans like him, Jones, and Armstrong need to put it all together this season.

Veterans like him, Jones, and Armstrong need to put it all together this season. McGarry showed more than flashes last year. He was practically one of our only competent hitters outside of Adley. His problem was that he strikes out too much. If he can cut down on his K rate this year, he will be really good. I expect big things from McGarry in 2020.

Larnach was similar (though a bit better as far as strikeouts) in 2017, to McGarry in 2019. Larnach OPS went from .850 to 1.115 from 2017 to 2018 - and he had a slight improvement regarding strikeouts.....down to 1 SO per 3.9 AB in 2018 McGarry was OPS .879 last season. He had 1 SO per 2.8 AB... (including worse than that against PAC 12 pitching)...ouch!

Off season priority.
Hours in the cage adjusting to breaking balls down in the zone.

Off season priority. Hours in the cage adjusting to breaking balls down in the zone. Last year, when McGarry hit .293, he struck out 56 times. When he didn't strike out, he hit .455 (46 for 101) of which 8 were homers.-charlie1934
