Ok... so before someone goes off on some bizzarro tangent or think it's being rude... If she has an illness, or upcoming surgery/recovery, etc... I mean serious enough to take a well deserved LOA, I find it a bit weird the hubby would not be assisting fulltime in said recovery vs becoming the head coach?? I mean, maybe it isn't as serious as that, or something he is not needed for... I don't know just struck me a weird when reading that portion of the release.

Hopefully it's not something too serious. I've met these two and they are very very nice people.

I don't find it that odd. There's a multitude of health issues that don't require your spouse to drop everything in order to aid recovery. If he worked say at HP, would you find it odd he wasn't also taking an LOA?

She’s a classy lady that runs a nationally relevant program and is held in high esteem in the coaching community. I send my prayers and best wishes for a speedy and complete recovery.

The vast majority of medical issues, including very serious ones, don’t require the spouse to take an LOA. I bet they also have a large support structure locally that can help.

Tanya has done so much for so many for so long, I'm sure there is a small army mobilized to support her through this. I calculate that right this moment there are about 100 gymnastic moms ready to drop a lasagna by her house. She's a remarkable and remarkably caring woman who has touched a lot of lives, and she truly deserves the prayers and support of all of Beaver Nation.
