The freshmen bigs are learning against some of the better post players in the nation. They will continue to improve. Ten games remain in the conference season with the PAC-12 tourney to follow.
Our guards are capable of leading this team. They are being tested right now and need to continue to work hard to regain their collective shooting confidence and must continue to believe in each other. I think they will.
It will be interesting to see what the coaching staff can do to help make the team's offense more efficient in the upcoming weeks. I saw some different wrinkles in the first half against Oregon to try to isolate certain OSU players against Oregon's lesser defenders.
Basketball is a game of adjustments. I have faith that the Beavs will be stronger in March for what they have gone through during the team's first 8 conference games.

No place to go but up......I hope. Kind of gut wrenching when you look at the PAC-12 standings:
UCLA 7-1 Stanford 7-1 Oregon 7-1 Arizona 5-3 Arizona State 5-3 Oregon State 4-4

In spite of that, we're still ranked number 10 today. We get the Arizona schools at home in 2 weeks, and can move past both of them with sweeps by us and the ducks.
The object now is to get best possible seeding for conference tournament and, more importantly, home court for the opening rounds of the NCAA tourney. Then we see how deep we can go. Don't lose heart.

There is every reason to believe this team will lose a minimun of two more games in the remaining 10, which will be the most conference games the Beavs have lost in quite some time. If Kat and Aleah (or possibly Kennedy) get the 3 going again, it's also possible they could win out in the last 10 conference games.
It's my opinion the coaching staff is superior, Mik and Destiny are one of the top guard combos in the country, and the freshman are very talented...but they are freshman. I do expect to see improvement from Taylor and Kennedy in these next 10 games, but other teams will see improvement as well.
They started the season 15-0, and it wouldn't completely surprise me to see them finsh the Pac-12 10-0, or 13-0 thru the Pac12 tourney. I don't know that they will get it done, but the talent is there if they can put it together these next few weeks.
The good news for the Beavs is that none of their losses were real blowouts, but they did lose, and that's what counts. They need to learn to pull those games out, and that is one aspect where they need the freshman to step up, and the shooters to hit their shots.
If for no other reason, I would absolutely hate to see this team not finish strong for Mik's sake. She deserves to go out a winner, so I am really hoping for her sake, this team has a nice run in the NCAA tourney.
As for the current records of the above mentioned teams, UCLA still has that easy Pac 12 schedule, but they still have to face the Beavs and ducks, Stanford, and the Arizona's on the road. The Arizona's get to stay home in their only game against Stanford this year, and still face UCLA at home and the Beavs and Ducks on the road. It will be quite the battle for fourth place in conference.
