Brown earned her minutes. She was one of the three on the team with double digit efficiency (positives - negatives).
And Kat had everything else good. Can't tell she's going to miss until she misses.

Kennedy is in there for her defense, similar to KtMac last year. She tends to take the better big. I'd like to see her play high post, just make sure she stays high enough that her defender can't sag off on Taylor.
I can only imagine Kat was there to try and get her started. She was really good on defense before her injury and she is getting better by the game.
Keeping Aleah on the bench for the first minutes works well because she can actually see what is going on. She can then make a plan and implement it upon entering the game.
The game is finally showing down for Jaz. Now is the time to give her some minutes. There is still going to be some growing pains but those well get fewer and further apart.
Taylor is an animal in the paint. She needs to learn to keep her arms straight up and avoid fouling. I do like her foot speed.
We really need Mik to come to play Sunday. She has had a rough couple of games. I'd like to her get her focus back.

I think she should be more concerned to why her daughter stunk to high heaven tonight. Playing 4 players on 5 Ducks ain't going to get it done Kennedy. You had the deer in the headlights look.
Scott should have benched her. No points, good grief!

Her numbers in conference are actually down this year compared to last year, so far at least. The team needs her to have that big senior season like Gulich, Weisner, or Syd.

Now Brown isn't being looked to by coach or teammates for point production. That isn't making use of your biggest kid.the triangle offense allows for the two post players to rotate equally inside to out. Giving both big kids good inside looks.we are wasting valuable time not developing Browns inside game, being as tall and agile as she is.pArticularly in a year where our outside game is lacking. Jones shouldn't have to do so much is another way to put it.teams will ultimately take Jones out of a game if she keeps doing her stuff. Jones will be even more dangerous with , another post equally trained to post up. UPS - "What can Brown do for You?"

So obviously your expectations are very low with this team. Given up already? Sixth place in the conference man and your okay with that. Watch mens games much?

I don't question, but don't understand the long rest for Jones, Slocum and Pivec. Seems like the girls off the bench provided a bit of stabilization , but did not really cut into the lead. Seems like the sense of urgency was there at the end , but just ran out of time ! I think we lost by 12 ( 6 of those came on two 'lucky shots from YKW ) . Then , we learned we took 10 fewer shots than the sucks. Let's say we convert half of those as 2's. That's 10 points , then take away the 6 - and we win by 6 !

Bottom line, they're very, very good, and they beat us tonight. That certainly doesn't mean they're going to beat us again on Sunday, but give credit where due. Prior to the season, we were all saying that, even though we're a very solid team, we'd probably be playing for 3rd in the conference this year. And that was when there was still some hope that Andrea and/or Jelena would play and before Taya was injured.
If you look at the numbers tonight, we shot 49.1% from the floor (thanks to Taylor) and the rebound difference was only 1 (in their favor). But, even though we didn't have a ridiculous number of turnovers, they had zero in the first half, when they clobbered us (we won the second half). We shot 27.3% from 3; Sabrina hit those 2 buzzer beaters to end quarters and Sabally hit the 3 as the clock was expiring. There's plenty of stuff the coaches can show them tomorrow, admittedly woulda, coulda, shoulda stuff, to build their confidence back up.
Realistically, we're probably playing for seeding going forward - in the conference tournament and the NCAA tournament. No matter what happens Sunday, We have to go on the road and beat the mountain schools, then come back to Gill and take care of business against the Arizona schools.
But I wouldn't concede anything for Sunday, and neither should you.

How important was slocum tonight? Without her stats we shot 22% from the FT line and 12% from the three pt line. Yikes

12 frickin' rebounds, over 1/3 of our total. An assist, block and steal with only 1 turnover. Yeah she didn't do anything.

We are playing to be seeded in the Portland Regional. We potentially have 2 more games vs UO and Stanford if you include the PAC-12 Tournament. We need to win all 4 of those games to get seeded in Portland Regional (not to mention win the rest of our PAC-12 games).
I loved our fight in the 4th quarter. Anyone think it is easy playing at UO in a sold out arena is crazy. I think our kids did great. Gill will be different. A sold out Gill is deafening. I was so impressed with our freshmen BIGs last night. Are you kidding me? We held the Ducks under their scoring average on their court. Without Kennedy's great defense and rebounding, and Taylor's incredible offense, the game would have been a blowout.
Jas was terrific in the few minutes she was in...we need more Jas. I can only hope we see better shooting from Kat & Mik Sunday. Destiny was a beast, but you could see her tiring at the end of Q4. I hope Scott gives Jas some of Destiny's minutes during the course of the game so we have a fresh Destiny all of Q4. Remember the long game....we are preparing for Tournament Time & seeding. First 2 games at Gill, and, then hopefully, Portland regional.
