The Beavs will likely start in man-to-man and throw in some zone tomorrow later in the game.
Individual starting assignments will likely be:
Jones on Hebard Brown on Sabally Pivec on Ionescu Slocum on Moore Tudor or Goodman on Boley
Beavers have consistently gone over screens against Ionescu in the past, giving her a midrange jumper virtually anytime she wanted one. Will be nice to see if a Beaver big can effectively hedge against screens for Ionescu tomorrow to allow whoever is guarding Ionescu to get over the screen and contest without fouling.
Staying out of foul trouble for Jones, Brown, and Pivec will be vital tomorrow as they will be guarding future WNBA first round picks who know how to get into the paint to score. They will have to be content with putting their hands up and forcing their defensive assignments to shoot over the top of them.
Any thoughts on what the Beavs can do to try to limit what is arguably the nation's most efficient offense in Oregon? I am sure the OSU coaching staff is doing its best to come up with some scout-dictated principles that will be used specifically against the Ducks.
