Daniel Pruitt will join the 2020 class. I believe he will walk on as a Catcher. Daniel is from Gaston, Oregon and attends Valley Catholic High School. He's 6-2, 200 and bats/throws from the right side. Good student with a 3.37 overall GPA. In June of 2018 he recorded a 2.03 Pop time, catcher velo of 77, and exit velo off the bat of 84. He ran a 6.99 sixty.

I show .336 and .349 in '18 and '19. I'm hoping to verify that. Has some pop in the barrel - 4 home runs last year. He'll have to hit to stick with the team, He'll join catcher Gavin Logan in the 2020 group.
In 2021, catchers Troy Claunch, Cole Hamilton, and Ben Steck could all return if no one signs following the 2020 MLB Draft. catchers Michael Tsoukalis, Wilson Weber and Tanner Smith arrive in the 2021 class.
As many as 6 or 7 scholarship catchers passing through in the early 20's - a tough assignment for a walk-on.

Thanks , He has some potential on the offensive side then. Would be great to have another switch hitting, clutch, power guy ! But, 'that guy' is a one in a lifetime talent !

Frankly baseball just needs more scholarships. 11.7 is just ridiculous. Yes, I know that would mean adding more to woman’s sports too because of title IX, but that can be overcome and is also the right thing to do. |
