It’s interesting to look at the game box scores relative to Aleah Goodman’s 3 point shooting. Through the first 5 games she was shooting a blistering 59% (19/32). Following the SUU game and the season ending injury to her best buddy Taya, her percentage drops off precipitously in the 12 games to present, to 25% (13/52) with 5 0-fer games.
It’s probably just coincidence but I do remember Aleah getting emotional in the post game presser when asked about TC’s injury.
Hang in there Aleah. You haven’t forgotten how to shoot. Just let it fly.

If anyone knws her... and I'm sure our coaches are better shot Drs than I, but she is consistently making the cardinal mistake of a shooter. She is ball watching. The last two home games I've sat 5 rows from the court... her eyes leave the rim and are tracking the flight of the ball. When shooters struggle it is one of the first things they do is become ball tracers. I'd guarantee her slump to be over if she'll focus on the rim and believe in the ball trajectory/her shot. Just a formally educated opinion from the not so cheap seats (ok for the women they are pretty cheap).

Just let it fly. You may be on to something. What surprises me is Aleah was a high percentage shooter from distance for 2+ years. We know that opposing defenses have scouted her to play her tightly everywhere on the court and dare her to put the ball on the floor and drive. However, her misses are typically coming on wide open threes, most of which come from passes from Slocum or Pivec after they take her defender away. Shooters have to keep shooting in order to become effective again. Let's all hope for Goodman's first two shots to go down tomorrow. If so, her confidence should be buoyed as she becomes a scoring threat once again.

I thought Goodman improved a lot attacking off the dribble last year. That seems to be gone this year.
