Her parents are both Beaver alums and former hoopers.

Sissel Pierce
Maybe "little" bro wants to be a Beav too?

She has been to OSU many times, saw her at a game with Sissel in 2018-19 and talked with her, as I knew Sissel when she was at OSU. She is interested in OSU and if we offered, I think she would accept. With 15 rides, and AA's most likely never being used, why not offer her, 6-8 with a high upside doesn't grow on trees.

Am I missing something - Why she is uncommitted, with her graduation from HS only 5 months away?
Does it 100% have to do with her injury/surgery? Her HS basketball career ends in about 2 weeks.
The videos (I assume from before her surgery/recent return to the court) would seem to put her roughly at the skill level of Jo Grymek - and that's comparing a College Senior Grymek to a HS (Junior?).

As the story says, she was unable to play at all last summer, prime recruiting time, and just recently returned from a chronic injury which I'm sure has made some coaches leery about her long-term health. My guess is she is hopeful that once more schools see she is healthy and can play, she will have additional (and better) offers and she can sign in the April LOI period.
My opinion means nothing, obviously, to the coaching staff. But she's a legacy, she's 6-8 with a ton of upside, and is an excellent student (from my conversation with Sissel). We have plenty of available scholarships. She is interested in OSU and if we offered, I think she would accept. She certainly seems more skilled than Ruth Hamblin was as a high school senior. We've carried AA on scholarship for two years and got nothing. Kolby Orum was a non-factor for two years before she developed into a serviceable Pac-12 player.
I realize nothing is guaranteed in recruiting. But as I said, 6-8 women don't grow on trees. Why not offer her and develop her (something we have an excellent track record of), instead of perhaps watching her blossom into a force someplace else?

Why not indeed? We have 4 graduating this year, and only 2 coming in.

Question... has anyone actually seen her tapes?
She is very frail. She is not highly athletic. And, if I remember she has had several issues with her patella, patella ligament. A quick view indicates she is more a small college, JC kid that needs huge physical development and some luck with her health.
That said, OSU already had two bigs with health issues. Jelena is well removed from what is not considered a serious knee injury... at least from what was let out it was nothing like an ACL. She is a big girl and a slow recovery doesn't really give a lot of promise for how much she'll be able to get up and down the floor even next year. AA may never play... for whatever reason. I do not see SR and staff wanting to have three such medical maybes/time bombs on the roster.
I guess as a legacy if she wanted to walk on you of course encourage her to do so, then go from there depending on her development.

Wow, congrats and best of luck to her but I sure hope that doesn't come back to bite us. Looks as if she was far more than walk-on material.

Wow, congrats and best of luck to her but I sure hope that doesn't come back to bite us. Looks as if she was far more than walk-on material. Cal needs more and any player it can get... even with raw potential. Even though OSU is the "destination" team in the Pac12 she is not a player Furd, ucks, OSU needs right now. Not sure her offers, but I'm doubting the likes of ASu or Zona were offering either. And, not at the skill level to help in the near future. Cal needs to take more risks with recruiting. It's Pac12 ball... a full ride(?)... good for her. But, if not a Beav...

Her HS stats are a little underwhelming.
This is Cal’s fourth top-100 F/C in 2020.

How can she be top 100 if she ‘misses’ in so many Key areas ?

How can she be top 100 if she ‘misses’ in so many Key areas ? I've seen her as high as #93, but with lots of questions about injuries and offensive game. She's a D1 project at a top 25-40 ish program. At Cal she'll probably start.
