Usually an easy W for the Beavs, but not this time. Coach Nickerson has built a strong team through his recruiting & coaching. They were at the Scuffle, finished 6th compared to OSU's 18th. Had 4 placers. 2 runners up: Alirez, 149, Robertson, 285. Schwartz-133 is their Freshman phenom. Turner, our best guy, used a last seconds TD to win his match with him. Other head to head is 184 Clothier beat Doyle pretty handily in the 7th place match at the Scuffle.
Other notables are Seely, 197 and Mathews, 165.
Can we capitalize on the win in Ann Arbor and use that momentum Friday? I hope so. We will need to win all of the close ones to win this dual methinks. Get bonus points where we can. They are strong where our best guys are, so that concerns me. Go Beavs!

Andrew Alirez is a stud. Looking forward to watching him - was Flo's #3 ranked recruit last year, was Trackwrestling's #1 guy. Lot of people were shocked when he stayed home. These guys have been killing it in recruiting and have kept some great talent in-state (sigh.). Should be a fun one.

21-12 BEAVS. We didn’t wear down at the end of the matches. We looked fresher throughout

Great win! Olmos stepped up, Doyle beat a guy who he had lost to twice this year. Couple guys looked tough on top tonight with lots of riding time..

Wait, I thought the coach didn't know what he was doing.

Great match, proud of these guys. Even in our losses, sans 174, we looked solid out there. Kaylor, Turner, Olmos, Doyle, Dixon...all did great!
Also thanks to Coach Canham and the baseballers in the house to watch the dual. Very cool.

Great Win by the Beavs tonight. They are still a young team but are in an upward arc. These guys are fun to watch, they are skilled, scrappy and disciplined.
