Probably because Scott's defensive philosophy is focused on making the opponent take low percentage shots. Also Blocks per game: 1. T Jones 2. K Brown Points per 40 minutes 2. T Jones

Taylor Jones is not only second in the conference in scoring per minute, she is also 2nd in rebounds per minute, as well as first in blocks per minute. Very impressive for a freshman. Actually, that's impressive for any player.

The simple efficiency with which Jones has played in her first 14 games provides us with a glimpse of how good she could become as she learns to stay out of foul trouble and develops a secondary or counter move for when defenders attempt to push her out of the paint.
OSU guards must already appreciate her willingness to fight for the ball near the block and her ability to catch the ball in traffic with her defender pushing her in the back. The pass doesn't have to be perfect for Jones to make the catch and finish.
Should Pivec break the all-time OSU rebounding record later this season, she will want to push that record as high as possible so that Jones has to work for it by 2023. I can see Jones averaging 10+ boards per game as early as next season with more minutes and more trust from the coaching staff related to avoiding early fouls in games.
