Unless they played teams with inferior talent like the Beavs, they weren’t wonderfully productive, but they look terrible tonight. Texas played LSU and Oklahoma very tough, so it’s not like they lack talent, but the wimpy effort by the Utes reinforces the national perception that our league is soft. We are pretty soft as a whole according to our underwhelming performances against other Power 5 opponents, but if anyone should NOT look soft, it should be Wittingham’s team. They were exposed in the Pac 12 championship game. Sure wish we’d get off the schtick sand start representing. Our play as a whole has done nothing to provide a legit call for an 8 team playoff and an automatic bid for every Power 5 champion.

That is the Utah team that rolled up over 500 yards and put up 52 points on the Beavs. Says something about the D.

Huntley has no clue tonight. If his first look isn't there, he takes off somewhere regardless. Doesn't for his another receiver.

Due to Ludwig being Ludwig Utah hasn’t played Utah football for two games. That offense simply wasn’t put in position to be successful.

I have to say I didn’t see this coming.

Did we all forget how bad Ludwig is? Their size was enough to mask it during much of the conference season - but once they couldn't just push the opponent around at the line of scrimmage, it was right back to the same old crappy offense that Utah normally has. The game we played against them was easily our worst of the season. We fared better against Oregon than they did by the end of the season.

Fizzled out their last 2 games. Makes you wonder how much they were 'in' it after the P-12 championship game. This result surprised me too.

OC doesn't seem to be the biggest break down. Ludwig or not, they have 6 guys going to the Sr bowl from the defensive side. I've never heard of that many going from one team.
The last two defensive performances is the biggest letdown. If losing the Pac12 title game and a possible semi invite caused this that Utah staff and team are mentally weak front runners.

Whittingham certainly not deserving of any COY awards.

The Utes are a statement that teams play to their confidence levels. They killed the beavs early in the season. If they played the beavs in November, they would have lost.

In some ways this result was predictable. The Utes have been hearing for the past 6 weeks how they are a playoff contender and then to end up in the Alamo bowl had to be a let down.
Apparently Tyler Huntley said this after the game: “We took more of a vacation instead of preparing for the game.”
True or not, that must piss off Whittingham.
