Would be very interesting to see the impact these two would have on this year’s team. Really eager to see Jelena get out there. Must take a long time to strengthen the knee of a 6’9” female.

Periodic comments made by Scott Rueck throughout the fall seem to imply that we will see Jelena on the court at some point this season.
We hope that Jelena's leg strengthening process makes progress and we get a chance to see her on the court later this winter.

"As of today, Oregon State women still playing the waiting game on Jelena Mitrovic and Andrea Aquino as far as being cleared."
This quote really surprises me...I can't imagine what medical condition AA might have that could qualify her to still be part of the waiting game.... I had come to accept that AA was never going to be given the green light, and that her participation with the team was essentially a goodwill gesture on the part of Coach Rueck... If Steve Gress actually knows what he's talking about (not a given) then there remains a glimmer of hope that AA may one day see the floor in a Beaver uniform.....
Now I am more curious than ever about what keeps a player out of contact, off the floor, but yet, from outside appearance, seemingly healthy....
Whatever the case may be, I say good luck to Andrea. She's struggled, she's paid her dues, she's one helluva teammate, and an impressive young woman..... GO BEAVS !!

I too have resigned to the fact that Aquino may never see the floor in a beaver uniform. Scott Rueck legally can't talk about medical conditions of their athletes...that would be a HIPPA violation. We may never know what Aquino is dealing with unless she speaks of it.
Let's not get too worked up about the return of Mitrovic. She may be a big contributor...she may not. I'm guessing she is closer to a Grymek than a polished Guliich at this point of her career. Anything she gives us may be gravy, and may just be a very valuable practice player. I too am anxious to see her on the floor...

In 4 years as a Beav, she has the potential for big contributions. Problem is, Europe may come calling before that. As for Aquino, granted she has exceptional height, but when the program has ready-to-play Freshman bigs like Taylor Jones and Kennedy Brown, the (perhaps) ‘unattainable’ promise of AA somehow seems less important. It’s hard for me not to imagine Taylor Jones as a consensus all-American before her OSU days are over.

It’s hard for me not to imagine Taylor Jones as a consensus all-American before her OSU days are over. That's a nice wish, but that would mean she surpasses 9-10 other F/P rated higher than she was. She's been good... but let's not jump the shark too early. She'll get some real tests in Pac12 play from some upperclassmen in the front court. Sabally, Carrington, Hristova, Onyenwere are all capable of inside play and nominees for national awards at small forward. Other nominees for national awards for PF and C... Ruthy Hebard (won the award previously), Belibi, (the only freshman on the list), Cate Reese, Maya Dodson. Furd is loaded with national nominees, besides Belibi they have some real depth... the twins, Prechtel is GOOD, Jones goes inside some and is athletic and mobile. And, SC - combo of Pili and Jackson is also very good. And, I'm sure I missed some... Jones and Brown will need some help inside as the season goes on. With all the great youth in the Pac12 plus 7 highly rated front court players already singed for 2020, being 1st team All Pac12 will be an accomplishment.

I've heard that Jelena will be available sometime in late January.
