Good weekend for local wrestling nerds.
Beavs on TV vs Nebraska. Will be ugly, but it's wrestling..
NW Duals HS tournament in Albany -32 team dual meet tourney. This year they've added a separate small college dual meet tourney on Saturday (Corban, SOU, Umpqua CC and others). And then we've got Senior Nationals qualifier this weekend in Texas. Should be some awesome matches!

I consider myself a wrestling fan. But I'm not interested in watching a once great program get humiliated and watch OSU's last wrestling coach ride the program into oblivion. |

That sucked - clearly not a wrestling power since Dale Thomas ! Don't seem to be able to recruit elite wrestlers. Nothing against the athletes - just that the upper tier has separated themselves to such an extent that there is no way we can catch up.
Looks like we should follow the 'sucks' and switch over to a competitive dance team.

An even bigger problem might be that the higher ranked guys who do wrestle at Oregon State now tend to fall relatively flat at nationals. With no highly ranked guys present and zip in the pipeline, wrestling is in beyond dire condition. |

Agree 100% on the pipeline comment though! Dhesi was good, but he was good when he got here. It may have also been bad timing as those top tier big guys have been really good the last few years. Bresser did improve. No doubt. But you go back to the Mangrum-Pena teams with very highly ranked guys who had poor national showings relative to their rankings. Too many of those types. By the way, spell check gave that Bresser change. |

Sad days for osu wrestling. Just not competitive anymore. The conference is horrible,minus ASU and sometimes Stanford. How many teams field Pac-12 wrestling anymore...3. Can't get any good in-state wrestlers anymore. Why is Zelesky still our coach? Let his contract run out and hire a new coach giving us a new direction. Much needed...
