Read: news.yahoo.com/football-star-expelled-rape-twice-100019737.html?.tsrc=daily_mail&uh_test=2_07Long story short, the federal department of education civil rights unit brokered a deal with University of Oregon to change an expelled student's transcript from "Expelled for sexual misconduct" to "expelled for student conduct" To be fair to Oregon, this appears to be at the direction of the Ed dept under legal pressure from the parents. However, it is incredibly disturbing all the way around.

Disturbing, YES, but as much as I like throwing the *ucks under the bus, I can honestly read this article and label them as nefarious. It seems like they tried to do everything right, including going above and beyond with the unusual original transcript notation. Then after the fact, with the help of the dept of ed and the threat of a discrimination lawsuit the mom string armed the university into changing the transcript. At least we aren't talking about blatant rapists who get NO punishment at all, who remain on the football team, and who's victims are ignored, like was not uncommon in previous generations. This is still a sick and twisted story, though, and speaks to how those with power will never stop trying to hide and diminish their wrong doings, even using the very processes put in place to PROTECT their VICTIMS as a way to protect themselves. Pretty freaking gross if you ask me. I can't imagine what I would do as a parent. Your son rapes two girls (allegedly) , if you believe him you do everything you can possibly do to right that wring right? If you don't believe him then what? Still try to make it so he can be successful in life? Shun him? Leave him for dead? Not sure what I would do to be honest, this mom clearly took the mama bear route to the full extent. There is also significant blame to be laid at the feet of the prosecutor who didn't at least try to take these cases to trial. Even in just a He said/She said case those are some pretty strong witnesses and evidence...
