On second thought, it is probably just Stanford players having some fun. Not many undergrads would transfer just because it is Stanford. Lots of starters in the portal, so it isn't a playing time situation.

I think this is very interesting... either the Stanford coaches are looking to clear some roster space and giving the "encouragement" to transfer or something is going south with the "Culture". No facts to report just guessing.

No facts to report just guessing. Some may not fit or want to continue to fit the academic culture?! Rumors from the bay area, granted from anti-Shaw faction, is that over the last 2-3 seasons several recruits each class were "barely academically acceptable". Not sure if they meant to the school's standards or theirs!? Lol Anyway, Furd loses kids every year. But, now the portal has become very public. I'm going to guess that 11 is a high number for a team with no coaching change looming... or does this signal there might be one coming?? At any rate it'll be interesting as they also have highly thought of draftees. Could be a shallow, inexperienced roster next season. Always enjoy the roadie there, maybe really enjoy it next season!

I think he's saying that they are "fake" transferring, but I can't buy that.

Just like trading up helmets at the all star games. Little known fact but the Dosy Doe move in square dancing was a harmless proxy for the wife swapping practices of settlers in the early southwest.

I know nothing of the situation at Stanford but it appears that all players listed in that link are grad transfers. Also don’t know their OL depth chart but for the other positions none of them appear to be starters — and only one DE appears to be much of a contributor. Again, don’t follow Stanford enough to know if others are contributors. So I wouldn’t read too much into this or Shaw’s situation there. Given that it looks like they’ll have a very good recruiting class coming in, I think this is more guys reading the writing on the wall and looking around to see what might be out there in the way of potential playing time for final season.
