The transitive property of competitive collegiate women's basketball results in quickly installing the Beavs as a 44 point favorite when they play Washington in Gill this winter. Or, perhaps not as baseba1111 has suggested. I do believe that Washington is improved over last season. However, Washington's shooting performance against Hawaii was historically poor with respect to its number of missed shots. I actually watched that game on the UW live link. I don't think I've ever seen so many missed shots by one team in a game ever. 3-pointers, mid-range, layups, you name it.

I do believe that Washington is improved over last season. However, Washington's shooting performance against Hawaii was historically poor with respect to its number of missed shots. I'm not sure about improvement. They've mostly been winning by big margins against bad teams. Blew a 17 or 18 point lead to lose to a maybe not even mediocre Tulane team, and you just saw the Hawaii game. Both were at home. The team just doesn't have enough shooters or natural scorers. They aren't going to force 25 TOs or hold opponents around 30% shooting when they get into conference play. For all the TOs they have been creating, they are terrible running the fast break. They just can't do it properly. They have no PG for the third season in a row, so it's a by committee approach by their 2s and 3s. They have some legit size inside, but unfortunately the bigs play really soft. I just don't see much reason for optimism, I think this will be similar to the previous 2 seasons. Maybe they'll get above 2 conference wins this year, but I'd be shocked if they even managed 6. This is year 3 for Wynn, I just can't see that she's building something or moving forward. It might be considered too soon, she needs more time, but I think I've seen enough. She just isn't going to get it done. Rueck and Graves both took over bad situations, both started winning sooner than later.
Looking at wiki for their first 3 seasons, Rueck had 2 losing seasons and 1 20 win campaign, in conference they won 2, 9 and 4 games, then they took off and never looked back. For Graves 1 losing season in the first 3, 2 20 win seasons and conference wins 6, 9 and 8 and then they also took off. Wynn has 3 combined conference wins in 2 season, losing record overall of course both season, and almost no chance of approaching .500 in conference or having an overall winning record this season. And nobody in their right mind thinks UW will jump to near the top of the Pac next season. The trajectory is just not good.
Sorry for the long post. It hurts me to see how bad the Huskies are, especially when you consider they went to the Final 4 in 2016 and won 29 game and went to the Sweet 16 in 2017. That was only 2 1/2 years ago but it already seems like an eternity.

The transitive value - Louisville beat Oregon, Ohio State beat Louisville, South Dakota beat Ohio State, Missouri State beat South Dakota, and we beat Missouri State. They should cancel both our games against Oregon; we're going to destroy them!

Short answer to thread: No
Based upon the number of OSU WBB players I have been told who put in extra work and shooting outside of team practice hours, it is apparent that this team wants to be better and its players are taking consistent steps to be better.

Last game vs Liberty and thus far vs Hawaii, two teams we should simply blow out....are too close... So are they just playing down to the completion, (they did beat a top 20 Miami team handily)? Need a bit more of a killer instinct IMHO yes

Need a bit more of a killer instinct IMHO yes holding the opponent to 32 points and doubling their score, not “killer” enough. Oh well..

That’s a interesting question but it was only one game. I did expect us to crush liberty too. But the game against Miami was so hyped up our girls probably took the liberty game off a bit. Think that we need more of a pattern here so wait for next tough game. Plus with higher rating means more pressure just like the other past number ones that have lost be careful what you wish for!
The other thing is that I see is if the bigs can carry a certain amount of weight that takes pressure off our perimeter players. So they can let someone carry them once in a while. The older kids will see if there’s improvement give the frosh the ball. Nothing wrong with that!

Need a bit more of a killer instinct IMHO Nearly every fan base that has an active message board has supporters that expect their favorite squad to steamroll every lesser opponent and play great basketball every game. As we all know based upon the frequency of surprising upsets that have already taken place this early in the season across the women's and men's collegiate basketball landscape, even higher quality teams often struggle to beat lower-rated teams on occasion. I am pleased that the Beavs remain unbeaten and continue to recognize their need to improve and clean up aspects of their game. There are many areas in which this team can improve (fewer turnovers, better free throw shooting, better ball movement, and quicker passing on offense come to mind quickly) and I trust the coaching staff to continue to lead them to steady improvement as the season progresses.

I really hope we clock the ucks and furd.
