I can't believe I actually watched that. UW never got warmed up even slightly, finished 19-84 from the floor and 4-29 behind the arc. Just awful.
Iowa has been to be wondering how the hell they lost to the Huskies.

“I’m proud of the effort offensively to push the ball in transition when we had it, to go to the offensive boards and get ourselves extra shot attempts and possessions,” UW coach Jody Wynn said. “Eighty-four shot attempts, you can’t ask for any more than that. … They weren’t bad shots either.
“There was just a lid on the rim.”
Not for Hawaii !

Pretty interesting to hear Geno talk about what it takes to not have happen what ND is going through. Sustained excellence is much harder then briefly getting to the top. The machine does self-perpetuate to some degree for recruiting, but there are a lot of other variables.
Rueck has been able to minimize the transfer damage other than losing a pretty vital big for her senior session a few years ago, and has had a top recruit sit now for the second season and 3 other serious injuries currently being dealt with (one just recovered) ... that would have put a lot of programs out of relevance.

I agree that having Bre Brown during the '17-'18 season to help out Gulich and Corosdale inside would likely have resulted in a few more victories during that 26-8 season. Brown was poised for what likely woulda/shoulda been a strong senior season in Corvallis before opting to grad transfer to Georgia Tech, a program that was not the right fit for her talents.
