Count me among those hoping Destiny returns for another year with the Beavs...As already pointed out, she and Goodman would make a tough, tough guard combo.... I may be reading too much into things, but Destiny's willingness to stay another year MAY have influenced HVL's decision not to sign on with the Beavs.....
From a coach's point of view, losing Tudor, Pivec, Slocum, Maddie & Janessa is a helluva hit to your roster and to your team chemistry....So yeah, I'm really hoping Destiny stays for another year.... GO BEAVS !!

If Slocum returns, I could see a lineup of Slocum, Goodman, Goforth, and some combination of Corosdale/Brown/Jones, obviously depending on Mitrovic and Aquino’s progression.
Mik will be very tough to replace. She’s as steady as they come and she impacts the game in so many ways. I was listening to something on twitter and a coach said “I constantly feel like I’m saying something to [player] during the game because she is involved in every play on both ends” and my mind went to Mik so quick. Hopefully Goforth will be ready to step in.

Agree. Relatively speaking, WNBA money is chump change, and I doubt that the endorsement opportunities would make Michael Jordan jealous. I understand Hodgins declaring for the NFL draft, but I don't really anticipate a lot of women , including Destiny, leaving a year of college eligibility on the table. With regard to Sabrina, my guess (and it's only a guess) is that Nike will give her a big endorsement deal 5 months from now. I think the plan was for her to be player of the year for a second time, win a national championship, be placed on the Olympic team, and become the biggest name in the sport. Then comes the shoe that every 11 year old girl will just absolutely have to own - at about $125 per shoe. It's actually good timing for both. Although Nike spends about $1 billion in endorsement deals a year, not big $ to WNBA players. And, they've caught some heat for WNBA superstars of today not having signature shoe lines as some past stars have. But, Nike is a biz and smart. SI is going to have to have an impact in the WNBA to invest a whole lot upfront. Of course if your daughter, granddaughter to strike it rich, start them in tennis young! Think I saw top 10 paid female athletes are all tennis players... I believe the grand slam tournaments force the sponsors to pay the women the same as the men. Of course, many of the men aren’t so happy about that.

I believe I recall hearing or reading something about Slocum saying she isn't thinking about the decision to go pro or not, she's concentrating on this season.
In regards to HVL possibly weighing Slocum's return into her decision, Louisville will have 8 or more guards on their roster next season. Either that wasn't a consideration, or she's not good at math.

With Brown, Jones & Corosdale returning, and with Mitrovic worked into the mix somehow, the Beavs will have one of the most impressive collection of Bigs in America...Having guards who can get the ball to them consistently and timely will be crucial....Goodman & Slocum combined with that awesome front court will immediately make the Beavs a Final Four contender... Without Slocum it will be a much tougher assignment..... A galaxy of games are to be played before next year is front and centre, but I tell ya' it could be an awesome season...... GO BEAVS !!

The next 3 years will be golden at the 3, 4, and 5; the only issue is 1 and 2. The 1 is good for next year no matter what Destiny does, as Goodman will be back. If Destiny doesn't come back, Simmons would need to step up big time to replace Pivec, but she'll never be her equal. Bottom line, we need to recruit guards, as we all know. But all of this is way in the future. Let's enjoy this year for right now.

Re: Mik She is definitely a 'once in a lifetime' student athlete. I am very happy she chose OSU and that we have all had the opportunity to see her 'oh my gosh' talents every single game. She is such a positive role model and a real impact player - no matter the situation. Really going to be huge loss when she moves on . Love you Mik , Go Beavers

The value of having talent that is so likable and civic-minded is huge. It makes the program easy to support even when the wins aren’t coming so easily. I believe Rueck gets this as well as anybody, and I suspect is more common when you hire an alumnus for the job. Wiese was also outstanding in this regard.
