Beavs are basically solid and down to earth while ducks are somewhat flighty.

I agree..Cooooook-koooo talk..................................BUT then again, when you combine the best 3-pt shooting foursome in the Nation with a couple of 'elite-to-be' freshmen "Bigs" - ANYTHING can happen.

Maybe a bit too much of a boost now, but 3 months from now...we only have a few rungs above us.

It may be crazy but the publicity is a real bonus when on the recruiting trail. I bet high school girls pay attention to it.

There is nothing crazy about it. Remember - this is BRACKETOLOGY. It's not "Who's the best?" It's "Who would the committee choose?"
Right now, we are #1 in the RPI. Guess who is #2? Missouri State! DePaul and Pacific are both in the top 25. UConn has one top-25 win. Stanford has zero. No one else has a resume even close to ours, by NCAA committee standards.
Of course, this is about as meaningful as having the lead on the second lap of the Indy 500. Enjoy it while you can!

This overall #1 stuff should last at least until Tuesday, or when Creme feels the need to draw attention to himself again, whichever comes first.

It’s nice pub, for sure. But this team clearly still has more flaws than some of the teams in the top 10. They can beat any of them because they have the shooters to do it. What they don’t yet have is a way to beat top teams even when the 3s aren’t falling.
That said, what would our record be with last years team? I’m guessing 2 losses, maybe more. Kennedy’s post D and speed has rescued us a few times this year, a dimension we didn’t have last year with our post D. And last year’s team was pretty good, so it’s not a stretch to believe this team is there with the top. It’s also pretty easy to believe they will get a few lumps at some point.

I'm confused. Last years team was a top 10 team. This years team is better than last years team. But this team isn't a top ten team. Seems to me somewhere logic has gone amiss.
"What they don’t yet have is a way to beat top teams even when the 3's aren’t falling." This is a comment I see frequently about the Beav's. Yes, the Beav's are usually good at shooting 3's, but in their 3 wins against top 20 teams they would still have won if all of their 3's had been 2's. So I really don't see how their usually being a good 3 point shooting team is bad thing.

I'm confused too. I think all of the top 10 teams have been showing some weaknesses and/or have had some bad games. Who out there is looking clearly head and shoulders better than the Beavs? Oregon, Baylor, South Carolina and Mississippi St. all just lost recently. Stanford has been winning but definitely has been struggling. UConn has been underwhelming in at least half of their games. A&M just got trounced today. I'm not sure who of note Louisville had played before beating Oregon, maybe they look the best of everybody so far?

Most of you totally underestimated Grymek's D last season. The problem was not with the post D, but the lack of offensive production from her post position.

According to Steve Gress, the new AP top 5---Stanford, Louisville, Oregon, UConn, and the Beavs at #5.
