Biggest win against Arizona since 1989. At 12-4, Oregon State is off to its best start since 1990 (14-2). Oregon State has outscored its first four conference opponents in aggregate for the third consecutive year. The last time before 2017-18 was 1992-93. The last time that the Beavers started conference play outscoring their first four opponents in three consecutive seasons was 1979-82. Ask that matters... we're 2-2 and in 6th place in league. Need more Ws than Ls. We can always count on our typical ray of sunshine.

It is, however, frustrating that we drop the games we should win.. (Utah, ASU) and win the games we probably aren't suppose to! (Colorado, AZ). When you can beat ranked teams on the road and at home, but lose to the unranked peers you want to pull your hair out. This is a team that is capable of being 4-0 right now, but we are 2-2. I just have a feeling this is going to be a rollercoaster season. We have to start closing out other games. 9-9 ain't gonna cut it for us this year.

I could be wrong, but I think the point of "Superlatives after tonight's win" is to list some superlatives after a win, rather than to examine the big picture for flaws. And, comparing past records isn't a superlative to a win in my opinion. How they played is. Many OSU teams have been 2-2, and cumulative scores mean absolutely zero. So since it was a post on a board full of opinion, I posted mine. And, 2-2/6th isn't a flaw, it's better than 1-2/9th. More, Ws than Ls is a factual requirement to make the postseason.

I do understand that it's all about opinions and that we all need to talk about good, bad, and factual. I wasn't so much complaining about your opinion as I was commenting on your post saying "Ask that matters...." (which I assumed was a typo for "Ask what matters..." or "As if that matters..."). That read to me as if you were saying that Wilky's superlatives were irrelevant, which seemed strange given that they were (arguably) superlatives in a post/thread about superlatives. That's all I was trying to say.

Win games that you have no business winning and then drop a game to an FCS team, just to make sure that everyone is paying attention. I agree with the end. Oregon State probably needs to go at least 9-5 down the stretch (or have a great Pac-12 Tournament) to stand a chance.

Riley won a lot more games we had no business winning than losing games we had no business losing. My memory isn't what it once was but I can really think of only three that stand out, EWU, Sac State and Wazzu at home in a season when they were terrible. We were favored in very few games under Riley.
I'm going to live in the moment for another day or two and appreciate last night's win through Wednesday at least.

Still believe 11 pac-12 wins is our minimum wins to make the dance, and that is still not certain. We just make it harder on our selves when we drop these winnable games. Like in football, we all bemoaned that heartbreaker at WSU, but honestly Hawaii and Stanford losses were bigger blunders... most fans ignore these early season missteps, and focus on the lost opportunities at the end. You gotta seize them here and now. I love that we beat AZ. great win for the program and a needed win to keep our head above water. We should celebrate this win for sure, but the big picture still looms.
