4-0... 3 big road wins Minny, OK, Boise State... score 96 on the road, 57 in the 2nd half being down 17 after 1st quarter vs OK... multiple players at 6'2", 6'4" post.
But, Oklahoma was 8-22 last year breaking a 29 year run to the tourney. Have to think they'll be better match up than DePaul?

With a 4-0 start, Missouri State is shooting 50% overall (opponents 43%), 47% for 3 pointers (opponents 42%) and out rebounding opponents by 9 (38 vs 29) per game. Turnovers have been about the same as their opponents (19 vs. 18) per game. missouristatebears.com/documents/2019/11/5/WBBOverall.pdf?path=wbballThey start 6'4" big bodied Emily Gartner at center who will be hard to push around. However, she only averages about 18 minutes per game. Several starters can readily score 15-20 points per game. While still smaller than OSU, this will be the biggest team the Beavs have played so far (not counting Team USA). Also, their style of play is more comparable to OSU's than earlier opponents. Should be a good test. Time to make a statement on National TV! (CBS Sports Network, 1:30pm Sunday)

Their leading rebounder by far is Jasmine Franklin who won a 2017 AR state championship in high school with Sasha at Fayetteville High School. She isn't very tall (6'1" roster listing is generous) but she is athletic and really strong -- AR state record holder in shot put.

Oregon State is rounding into a clamp down defense mode, and can literally blow a team out in two minute stretch (like they did DePaul last night, that was an amazing run). MSU is not going to score 96 against us, but we might against them. Go Beavs!

We shot 50.0%, 31.3%, and 44.4% on 3's, so somewhat below Missouri State. Our opponents shot 33.3%, 34.4%, and 36.1%, so way better than Missouri State. We outrebounded our opponents by 11, 11, and 22, so way better than Missouri State. Don't know their numbers, but we're also averaging 23.3 assists and 7.3 blocks per game. I like our chances.

Only... I'd bet without even having to check, Minny, Boise St, OK wins on the road are better than any opponent we've played at home?! Our numbers are due to the competition level, and in a large part vs DePaul the extreme mismatches inside. We shot better in the 2nd half, but other than the frosh the half shooting was hovering around/under 40%.

Sometimes, you guys seem like you're constantly looking to find the cloud lining in the silver. Without demeaning what Missouri State has accomplished last year and thus far this year, we're much better than they are, and we're going to demonstrate that on Sunday.
Then you folks can start singing the praises of Southern Utah.

I don't know why Missouri State isn't getting more respect out of the gates. They lost their leading scorer and their coach from last year, but that's it. Their new coach comes from Mich State, and hasn't changed their style that much. They were a darling last year in the tourney, knocking off both DePaul and Iowa State before running into Stanford. Iowa State's all-conf player got hers (31 points), but they found a way to win that game. They also put a lot of players on the floor, scrap for everything and have a lot of shooters. They will be more physical than DePaul, but maybe not as quick. They've played a tough schedule, including a win over a then-ranked Minn team. They are also playing with a chip, starting the season unranked and having their rival Drake picked to win the conference, even though they blasted Drake to boot them out of the tourney going into their Sweet 16 run. And we also know how tough Boise State is. This preseason is turning out to provide a lot more value than I thought going into the season. We also still have a road game against Miami. That will make 4 games in my estimation that are "first-two rounds of the NCAA tournament" quality level opponents. Outside of true blue-blood program games, that's not too shabby. Here's an article of them feeling disrespected: www.news-leader.com/story/sports/college/msu/2019/10/17/missouri-state-msu-womens-basketball-lady-bears-mvc-poll/4009789002/And them getting some respect, 3rd best mid-major: www.espn.com/womens-college-basketball/story/_/id/28068935/mid-major-top-10-rankings-drake-south-dakota-remain-top

I think they are another tough team that won't be a pushover. If you aren't ready, or you let them hang close, look out. The Beavs need to shoot as well as they did last night.

Though the sample size in the NCAA stats is very small at this point, here is where Mo.St. and OS stand (where they appear in the top 30):
Mo.St. OS 3pt % 9th 22nd FG % 18th 8th Assists 4th 3rd (Mo.St. 4 games vs. OS 3 games) Assists/game -- 8th Def.Rbds/game -- 5th
Though we are typically ranked in Scoring Defense and 3pt % Defense, we appear on neither list at this point (though I'm sure we will eventually). Mo.St. is also on neither list. Mo.St. appears to have a reasonably good offense but the stats shed little light on their defense relative to ours.

Then you folks can start singing the praises of Southern Utah. How is talking about the strengths of an upcoming opponent a "cloud"? Every team has strengths and to respect them is to be prepared for them. You don't think SR and staff are not singing their praises and game planning for them? Speaking glowingly about an opponent doesn't demean your own team. I've not read one post that said OSU will lose or can't handle them. By the way, building up your opponent then beating them is a far better confidence builder than diminishing them and then getting beat. Missouri State is the BEST team OSU has played thus far. DePaul is better than their shooting showed them to be, but Missouri State is an overall tougher matchup and will be a better win.

Regarding earlier derogatory implications in this thread, Southern Utah easily beat CSUF and Utah Valley and lost a heart breaker to the always-tough Grand Canyon. They are just 5 or 10 players away from going to the final four. My fact finding exploration also found out that the favorite foods of the center are french fries and chocolate ice cream. Her picture verified that this might be the case. I think you guys are way underestimating this team.
