I came to the realization on Friday night that as fans come back to Reser we are going to have to go through an entire "Re-training" period.
My observations:
In my section Fans were still showing up, standing in the isle trying to find there seats deep into the first quarter. Like the last time I took note of it was with 4 min left in the quarter.
Fans are walking the aisle during key parts of the game... not just one or two but an entire parade. I'm scratching my head when there is a 4th down conversion and people are leaving there seats to go down the stairs.
My major gripe -
Go into with an entire family, about that time in the 1st quarter, a few rows behind us on Friday night because my group was "Standing Up" and they couldn't see. These were fans dressed in Beaver gear btw.
Please keep in mind this was a younger family and all able bodied.
I tried to explain that we were only standing when our line of site was blocked or it was a "big" play as we are cheering on our beavers. Then I began reminiscing about standing the entire game prior to the new East Side project.
Anyway, the arguing went on for the entire 1st half and the bitterness lasted until said family exited with 6 min to go in the game.
I'm sure some here may argue that we should all be sitting down the entire game but my favorite moment from Friday night was when the stadium erupted as Grant made his pick and was headed to the end zone... we could all tell he was going to make it and the roar was so good to hear.
Time to stand on 3rd and 4th down, make some noise and get to "Roar" maybe 8-10 times a game instead of just one.

FWIW - I don't think either of those are really a re-training thing. For as long as I can remember stand-up vs sit down was a thing. But I do think when you had more season ticket holders, you pretty much had the same folks in your section from week to week and even year to year and everyone kind of "knew" what went on in that section. Now it's a lot of new faces from one game to the next and people have different game day expectations.
The "know when to exit/enter a row" has also been a peeve of mine and it's even worse now with in-stadium beer sales...so it goes.

Beaver Butts in seats are never a bad thing. Worst case scenario you stand in front of me all game long, salute the flag, hum battle cry of the republic off key, and gas up the joint. So what? I can outstand you and i bring headphones for the quiet moments in between the action. As for farters i notice there is one in every crowd. What you gonna do?

Due to general aging and a series of orthopedic surgeries I don't stand all game like I used to but I still defend my right to stand if I want to. It has always pissed me off when someone starts yelling at me to sit down and I've almost gotten into it with someone on more than one occasion.

The other interesting part is I was in our Season ticket seats... been in this section since the East Side was rebuilt. Ws on the east side, closer to the 50 before the rebuild.
Anyway, it will be interesting to see if the group behind us returns for ASU. I'd not seen them before so most likely bought tickets for that one game in that section.
I appreciate your perspective.... in retrospect I could have handled it with more class and will in the future. But I'm gonna stand on 3rd and 4th down and every time someone in front of me is standing. Probably time to ignore the name calling, cursing, and tap on the back from the same voices.
When I told them Husky fans were easier to sit around, was probably over the line but true for that game.
Rock on!
I think I was most saddened by the fact they were wearing beaver gear and so quickly hurling insults at us for standing.
