Okay, nice run at the end of the half. 45-31 lead. Jones has 20 already! Jones plays with such an impressive balance between finesse and toughness. I’ve honestly never seen a Beav WBB ‘big’ that was as far along as she is in their first month of college play. In fact, not even close.

10-0 run stretches the lead to 21 at the media TO midway thru Q3. Brown has a couple buckets, Jas hit a 3.

No turnovers since halftime! Beavs shooting 64% overall and 50% behind the arc.

67-44 after 3Q. Thropay drilled a 3 from the corner. Goodman has 4 3's and 9 assists. Pivec w/ 18 points 10 boards 5 assists. Jones needs 1 more rebound for a double-double in her debut.
I thought Mik's rebounding might be down w/ those Fr. bigs, but looks like she's still gonna grab plenty.

Pivec flirting w/ a triple double.
Slocum has been quiet for a while but nailed a pair of 3's to start Q4.

Only 1 turnover since halftime, midway thru Q4. 28 assists on 31 made baskets, that's awesome!
Jones has gone quiet in the 2nd half. Mik has 21 points 12 boards 8 assists.

86-57 final.
Pivec 25 points 10-13 FG 3-5 3's 12 rebounds 8 assists, what a stud!
Goodman also w/ a double-double w/ 12 points and 10 assists.
9 rebounds each for Jones and Brown.

Jones had 10 rebounds. A 20-10 double-double in just 23 minutes, I’ll take it. They keyed in on her in the third quarter and it really opened up the outside. I’m interested to hear when Jelena is expected to play. Onto Pacific. Sadly (from an “I want a competitive game!” standpoint), Loretta Kakala and Jordan Cruz are still sitting out after transferring midseason. They will have Valerie Higgins (who many here are familiar with) and another really good PF in Brooklyn McDavid.

Agreed, I'll take it for a debut. Brown was solid too.

Who was the last beaver to score a double double in their college debut? Not being a smartass, I'm really curious.
Jones is not just being fed the ball, she is getting a fair number of put backs and loose balls. It is only her first "real" game but I don't recall a big looking so good in their debut, at least in the Rueck era.
One of the other surprises for me was how hard Morris was fighting for position, it was a very pleasant surprise. She is definitely stronger than last year.
Jaz is looking much better than last year, both her and Morris have made a sophomore leap.
Mik was an animal from the opening tip. You can tell that she, Maddie, and Janessa are seniors. They carry themselves with confidence.

For those who are interested in our attendance figures:
In 2017, we drew 3,737 for the home opener on a Friday afternoon against North Dakota, and went on to average 4,979 for the year.
Last year, we drew 4,468 for a Friday night game against Cal Poly, and went on to average 5,457 for the year.
Tonight's crowd was 5,404.

When your FT's are 5% better than your 3's you either have really good 3 shooting or really bad FT shooting...or maybe both.
Jones's defense is a work in progress. KB and Trish are definitely better getting themselves in front of the ball and getting the arms in the right place. But the offensive side of things is sweet.
The Beav's did a lot of stuff wrong and still get the big win. Imagine what they will be like when they remember the 3 second rule!?

My favorite moment of the game was when senior Janessa Thropay connected on her first career 3pt. Pretty cool!
