Ok, I read thru this quickly, and probably shouldn't comment without reading it more carefully, but it sounds like to me her biggest problem was having to go to the doctor by herself (or with her Mom) and feeling alone and neglected. Whatever the medical care was, I would be interested in knowing what the same situation would be like at Oregon State. Oregon State practices and lives 'family', and I can't imagine a student athlete in the Oregon State WBB program feeling neglected. It would be interesting to see how Kat (who I know had big help from her parents), Andrea, Jelena, and others felt about the attention they received from the staff and team while they were rehabbing. If it is anything close to what Sedona seems to have experienced at Texas, I would be extremely disappointed.

Well, at the very least, our university has done everything imaginable to enable programs to operate "the right way". The academic and medical centers are right next to the athletic facilities, and everything is convenient to the rest of campus. The coaches and trainers don't have much excuse for not being engaged in the athlete's recoveries when doing so is as easy as walking across the parking lot.
JS has said that he considers our facilities to be a recruiting advantage - not the exotic woodwork, but the way it all lays out for the student. I think he had this sort of scenario in mind.

Sounds to me like this may have been the lynchpin in her transfer argument. She is continuing to justify her decision. Additionally, I am wondering about her long term ability to play again. Sounds like she may be a little 'fragile' , so could also be setting up for some sort of lawsuit. All speculation of course, however, seems to be trending in that direction.

Thats why they’re going public with her personal medical information. It’s all strategic.

She made her complaints known right when she entered the portal. Though not in detail, just that they ( Texas ) were negligent with respect to her treatment.

If going to doctor's visits with just her mom made her unsafe in Texas, does that mean that kids in Texas going to the doctor with just one parent are not safe? Absent an accompanying representative of their grade school, will they face unimaginable horrors?
What a crock. The young lady's story is lame.

I admire SR and his approach more and more every day..... He might not get some of the highest rated players we are in contention for, but he does get players of a very high order that fit the culture: in recent Twitter pictures, what I have been most struck by is the genuine smiles of happiness plastered all over the players and coaches faces. He has built a family culture, and one basic tenet of family is that it consists of a set of people that care, love and support each other. I would say our biggest competitive advantage is this culture (I will also say it quickly negates a bunch of the "limiters" other coaches have on occasion identified with Corvallis - happy families are not happy because they are near concerts and airports and amusement parks and nightclubs, they are just happy, and in fact fewer of those 'distractions' helps to maximize family time).
And the reason he needs potential recruits to visit is that they will very quickly either recognize and embrace the family values on display, or it will make them uncomfortable and/or collide with their value system. We bemoan "the ones that got away", but perhaps (in some cases, at the very least) we should be happy (for all parties involved) in not having created a cultural mismatch.
What does this have to do with the Sedona article? Even from distant observation I would happily bet my 401K none of our players would EVER use the words "alone" or "unsafe" to describe their experience at OSU. I will note our recent transfer (Taylor Kalmer) is not saying anything negative about us, nor have I heard of any other SR transfer or alum speak badly of the time spent at OSU. And I continue to admire what SR has built here, and is building here.
Go Beavers!
