I don't see any of the college teams having a chance if Team USA plays it to their full capability... Now if TUSA doesn't play it like the finals of the Olympics...... For any college team to have a chance it would take a fluke. Team USA would have to play their worst and the college team would have to have an insane shooting night along with playing way over their heads in every other capacity. They have about the same chance that the Washington Generals have against the Globe Trotters.

The Beavs will be up against talent and size mis-matches at every position and with every player. So, obviously no one expect the Beavs to win....
Some of this game's outcome will depend on whether Team USA will be using the game at Gill to work on one phase of their game, for example, ironing out their full-court press, improving their zone defenses, new perimeter defence, etc.... Or, whether the game for them will be essentially a working scrimmage where they can wheel and deal in wide open, full speed fashion - which is probably what most fans would like to see.
Stanford plays them Sat. the 2nd at Maples, so maybe we'll get a clue from how that game goes..... Personally, I'm curious as to what it will take to score against these guys!! Should be a great adventure for the Beavs... GO BEAVS !!

I'd be very surprised if OSU (or Stanford, or Oregon, et al.) loss by less than 25-30 points. I expect the game will look something like the Beavs vs. Union (but with roles reversed of course...Beavs as Union, TUSA as the Beavs).

The tale of the game, for all 4 college teams, will be told in the first 5 minutes. If they come out really tight and fall behind 14 - 3, or something like that, then the rout is on, and the final margin will only be limited by when Team USA starts to ease up in the second half.
But I'm sure each coach will just tell the team, "Let's just go out and see how we can measure up. That's all that matters to us, not the result of the game. They're awfully good, but so are we. There is absolutely no doubt that they're going to demonstrate to everybody in attendance that they're good. We just want to do the same, and enjoy the experience. Everybody else in the building is going to enjoy it, no matter what. You should too."
And then let the chips fall where they may. I think the coaches will try to establish some defensive goals that might be doable - hold them under 75 points, don't let them shoot over 44%, hold their offensive rebounds to under 10. Have the kids concentrate their focus on that, and let the offense take care of itself.
My guess? The final margin is 20 to 25 - decisive, but not a total blowout.
One other thing. I think our girls will watch closely how Stanford does tomorrow, and then try to do better than that.

Team USA could make the margin as bad as they wanted. They'll be professional in their approach with the sole purpose of improving their team. But, they'll also not embarrass any college opponent.

Team USA has played Stanford 3 times before in the run up to previous Olympic games, and the average margin of victory has been 38 pts. Tennessee beat TUSA 65-64 in the late 1990's which is their only loss to a college team to date.

Kelsey Plum will miss the Stanford and Oregon State game for team USA, Kelsey probably still has nightmares about playing and losing in Gill. Plum was 1-6 against OSU. 0-3 at Gill.

I wonder if SR will substitute in any of his 4 injured/ill/resting/nonactive players in the last minute so they can be credited for playing against TUSA and the Nations best?? No exertion needed in last the minute, down by 34!

Nice gesture, but too risky. How many times have you turned your ankle just walking or doing something stupid? Maybe the last 5 seconds and tell them not to move !
