Anybody think that grienke should have been left in? Didn't take long to go south from there.
Congrats Nats. You earned it

Dance with the one you brung. Plus, he looked like Brooks Robinson fielding his position. 5 assists tied a WS record. Accounted for 6 outs (started a DP) and saved one sure base hit and possibly one other.

Anybody think that grienke should have been left in? Didn't take long to go south from there. Congrats Nats. You earned it The case could be made that he was pulled early, but in game 7, you're often gonna see a quicker hook than a regular season game. He cruised through the first 6 allowing just 1 hit and 1 walk on just 67 pitches. 7th inning: ground out, HR, BB on 13 pitches - he was at 80 total on the night. Dude makes $34 million a year, so they're paying him like he's a bona fide stud. That said, Will Harris put up a 1.50 ERA on the season, so you're not going to chopped liver out of the 'pen. Hindsight says leave Greinke in there, but it's hard to argue too hard about the change. I usually lean toward leaving the starter in if he's been going good, rather than pulling the starter at the first sign of trouble, but new theory says to pull starters on the 3rd time through the line-up.
