The Beavs were firmly in control of the game when Hebard got hurt. I've seen that pop up elsewhere that an asterisk needs to placed next to the game in Corvallis like it doesn't count because of the injury. Not to mention the game in Eugene was a 5 point margin w/ 1:55 left. To think the Beavs were incapable of beating Oregon w/ Hebard on the floor is silly to me.

So , the way I see this WBB Civil War. I look at history. Last year we had no post presence. We split with Graves gravy train. This year , we have a young Post presence, some senior leadership and obvious size advantages. I say, we beat the sucks twice ( once in league, once in Pac 12 tournament ). As far as Stanford, they always seem to have the ability to get one from us. So, I will go with a split there - with both games being down to the wire. We have two games with them this year, rather than the one from last year. So , 3-1 Beavers against the pretenders, in favor of the Beavers ! Short memory Ruthy played 13 minutes at Gill. Her subs combined for 1 point and 2 rebounds. The game she played against us she had 21 and 11 and they won easily. 1 and 1 against the ducks this year will be very hard. It is true that the Beavers led 24-17 in the second quarter of the win at Gill last season when Hebard left with her knee injury. The Beavs looked very good early and late in that game. Hebard had a negative +/- in her 13 minutes in the Ducks' loss against the Beavs. Ionescu shot poorly from the field in Gill but nearly willed the Ducks to a comeback win in the fourth quarter, including being aided by three free throws following her late flop when Goodman was in the vicinity.

Very true. In interviews after the game, Scott Rueck commented on how it was more difficult for us to have Hebard go out. We had game-planned for her and were doing well in holding her in check. As it turned out, we had to make an in-game adjustment. Thinking that Hebard would do as well in game #2, after Rueck has time to make adjustments, is risky speculation.

I am thinking that 6’6” or 6’9” can trump 6’3” when Ruth shoots everything from about 3’ off the glass she will get some points - but she will have to work very hard just to get a shot off - especially since Scott and staff know her every n move.

Ruthie and Sabrina are 2 & 4 against Oregon State in their careers at Oregon.
