Tribune articleCORVALLIS — Some of the experts are already weighing in on the 2019-20 women's college basketball season. ESPN has Oregon State pegged as a No. 2 seed in the NCAA Tournament and a top-eight team overall. NCAA.com ranks OSU sixth nationally. How does Scott Rueck feel about such high expectations? "We've had them here for a long time now," said Rueck, who has taken the Beavers to six straight NCAA Tournament appearances and four consecutive Sweet 16s, including the 2016 Final Four. "It's just part of what everybody wants here. "I'd be real disappointed if there weren't high expectations. That would mean I wasn't getting the job done. It's fun to surprise people, but I'd rather be one of the ones people are most excited to play against."

Important quote from Eggers' wbb article listed above:
"Rueck hopes the 6-foot Tudor — a career .423 3-point shooter and .820 foul shooter — will be ready for the Nov. 9 regular-season opener against Cal Irvine in Oregon State's first game in the Women's NIT. If not, she's close. Tudor is a senior but has applied for a medical redshirt year in 2020-21."
Now that's news !!🏀 GO BEAVS !!

A couple thoughts on this article. First, how is Oklahoma seeded higher than the Beavs in the pre season NIT?
Second thought, when mentioning Kat, in the way he phrases it, Eggers seems to have both Kat, and Aleah comng off the bench. Does he know something we don't know? I loved it when Kat and Aleah came off the bench last season. It gave a real nice scoring punch when they came in. This season though, have the coaches given Kerry any hints on the starting lineup, or is he just guessing that both Aleah and Kat will be coming off the bench?

The Oklahoma thing is simply contracts and guarantees for the tournament. Nothing to do with how good they are. As for the lineups, I think this is just Kerry guessing/extrapolating. I doubt he has any inside information. Kerry is great for coverage and information, but his true “inside info” seems to have left when coach Riley did.

I think its a decent sign that Rueck's response was "I don't know." to whether or not Andrea will be able to play. A 6-9 player for UVA (was going to be a senior) was recently diagnosed with Marfan Syndrome and UVA formally announced she is medically retiring. I feel the same would be done her if Andrea didn't have at least a chance.
Very excited for the WNIT - we'll get a good look early, especially with playing a few of Pacific, Boise St., DePaul, etc.

Concerning WNIT: probable opponent on Nov.11 is Pacific....As other posters have already reported here, Pacific is quite loaded with highly recruited talent and with experienced returning players.... Not sure if they are a top 20 team, but they've got as much talent as some top 20 teams..... GO BEAVS!!
P.S. I posted some info on Pacific a few weeks ago, I'll. try to track it down....It seems a bit obtuse right now, but it won't in 2 weeks....

She seems to be doing "more" out there in the warmups before games, and is more engaged, not less so. Without any basis for this opinion - I say we see her on the floor someday. Wishful thinking on my part? Perhaps. But just the vibe I got today..... I will say (from afar) - she has been an amazing force for good on bench, and is a role model for how to deal with tough cards when they get dealt to you. Go AA! Go Beavers!
