Everybody read this before Stern Rebuker comes around and tries to blow it up. It is quite a reach but sometimes surprising things happen. That's sports.
Alu Aydon before: yearly underperformer, you could count on him to be in the lineup, but often gassed just from running off the field because he couldn't stay on the field because he was gassed.
Alu Aydon now: stays in for much of the game, has become an impact player on the D. Has been observed even diving at guys to make tackles. Who saw this coming? not many.
Zach Reichle before: a turnover machine who couldn't break a press with his feet and rarely took advantage of his shooting ability because he was too busy turning the ball over or fouling because of bad defensive fundamentals.
Zach Reichle now: i guess he may be the same. Or now he has conditioned himself to outwork the other guy on the court and will always play and shoot with confidence because there is no other way to play the game. I hope i am wrong/right.
I know the way some of you think and you will want to make a joke about playing different sports. We all know that Zach doesn't play nose tackle so just stop yourselves before you start.
Also, i foresee one of you also making a ha ha about when Zach undergoes yet another transformation, thereby earning the nickname Zach "Third" Reichle. Just don't.

Is there some info or article you've seen/heard that portends ZR has changed? With the influx of younger players at his position I can't imagine he sees much PT unless there has been a huge change.

No i haven't heard a thing. Just wishful thinking. And you, for one, have said you doubt "the influx" is all that. Why don't you just officially change your name to STERN REBUKER It's easy i will show you how if you can't figure it out. Nobody is going to miss the Baseball011 moniker. You have to admit it lacks the uhh authority of it's user.

Well, I've stated the recruiting level has not improved and is not at the level to significantly move OSU into the top tier of the Pac12. However, without seeing game action yet, going by film clips, the newcomers seem to be far more athletic and D1 ready. Never thought ZR was a D1 type while he was in HS. As far as the miniker, I'd have to care if they'd miss it or not?! Besides... I think I'm going to log in to basically read from now on. Maybe post some to... well... we'll see.

I'd love to see him make some strides. Not holding my breath for huge improvement, but I agree with what WT says that if it works out that they have improved depth it will help Reichle. I believe he averaged about 20 mpg last year, and I think he's really better suited for about 12 minutes a game -- maybe 15 depending on match up and game circumstances. I think he could have a valuable role as a high energy guy (kind of like role Berger filled in two years ago though at a different position) who can also spot up and shoot. I like that he's been working out and changing diet. Will help with stamina and strength as well as hopefully confidence, which is one thing I think he lacked last year. Always seemed a bit tentative and maybe some of that was a strength issue.

ZR is a great shooter in practice....unfortunately, it has yet to transfer to games.

I was expecting to read in this thread that he had lost 40lbs in the offseason.

If ZR is not a D-1 talent and he is getting 20 mpg what does that say about Tinkle recruiting and man power in our league? We Actually over achieved last year! Good job beavs
